I'm pretty sure there won't be Thur. weigh-ins. He stated that Thurs. meets were a issue that they were concerned with also,we will have to wait and see what they decide.
I've talk to Rex and he said that they are working on this problem . Weigh-ins and could be mat side with weight allowance. Should have announcement by Monday.
I think having Thursday night weigh-ins for a tournament of this caliber is totally unfair. This will allow kids to cut unreal amounts of weight, and wrestle Sunday 5-10 pounds heavier than some of the other kids that choose not to cut weight. Would this happen at the high school state?
I disagree because I think aggression should get heavier reward. Blocking a shot and spin-behind shouldn't be the equivalent to someone initiating a blast double or high crotch.
I can say that for once I agree with wcs145. Wrestlers have different styles, some are offensive and some are deffensive. Both styles are exciting to watch.
You mean start promoting a weight class that only two-thirds of schools could field last year? Umm, ok. :
I mean promote any thing that has to do with wrestling, negative statements hurt programs.
Some of the most talented wrestlers in the state are at 103's lets face it they are not football players, they are wrestlers and thats all they do. My son will most likely be there, and i can't see anyone trying to do away with the class. Someday they will be outstanding college 125's or even higher. All I can say is quit knocking it and start promoting it.
