  1. We have had small school kids win championships...still no movies on them.

Welp, apparently they just didn't work hard enough, or want it bad enough or some other terrible cliche that I don't have the white trash brain power to come up with. I'm sure a single class supporter can help me out with some more.

  2. "Kids" aren't staying close.  Welliever stayed within 7-2.  His other 9 matches in the state series are 6 first period pins and 3 techs--5 of the pins in under 15 seconds.

I agree with that. It has just been mentioned that since Lee demolished Molloy and Red stayed relatively close with him last year and now Welliever, that somehow that justifies Lee beating Red. Again, my pick is Red after watching him in the off-season and Lee not having the benefit of wrestling the entire season (not that he'll have much mat rust). Although I'm sure neither of them care nor want my opinion, and I'm cool with that, I just can't wait to watch it (assuming it happens that way).

  3. If I were to guess, the whole kids staying close with Red and not with Lee is probably of mixture of Red's boredom due to his dominance and also having a target on him being #1 in the country. I agree with the style match up. Red's defense is unbelievable (see OPRF combine with Dardanes on flo) and I don't see him getting taken down, but maybe once in this match and as high scoring as it should be I bet that won't be the difference. All this coming from a guy who picked Lee over Micic 2 years ago, so don't assume I'm a hater.

  4. Just a reminder, ISWA Beach Wrestling State Championships are this Saturday in Madison. This is the 3rd year for it and we'd like to see this event really take off. It's a special event to people from the area as we are an official event of the Madison Regatta. Come out and try something different and have fun doing it. Old guys are welcome too, as that is one of our more entertaining groups! Championship belts go out to winners and medals for 2nd and 3rd. Registration is on Trackwrestling.

  5. I know from the outside, there has been a push for this for a couple of years now.  A lot of it has to do with trying to grow the sport and this is a way to do away with the stigma attached to singlets from outsiders.T.R. Foley, one of the writers for Intermat, has been an outspoken proponent of it in his Friday Mailbags as well as on that blue bird site.

  6. Blame Hinkel? For a dual meet you yourself said coaches have no say in.Hinkel isnt the coach. Ersland and Goldman could have moved it. Really?Blame Hinkel? Really? Schedule Probably already made up? Really?  Have no bone against Ersland. The thread sites a transformation. Just an opinion, but PU messed this one up.

You obviously didn't read the second half of that post. Once the schedule is set (prior to Ersland getting there) it is very difficult to change. Give the guy more than 6 months to put things into motion.

  7. So what did I write that was not factual, dishonest, or condescending? I purely provided objective data for a factual comparison between last year's squad and this year's team. There is zero opinion involved in that, numbers don't lie.

I want to see a return of the program to prominence as much as anyone.

If you would like me to provide my constructive opinions on the soft aspects of the program direction that others are observing, we can discuss.

    You're right, numbers don't lie.

    L. Welch losing 3-1 to #1 Delgado

Sabatello beating Zane Richards among others

Welch Beating #2(at the time) James Green and #8 Dylan Alton

You won't convince me that if there wasn't a change in staff that matches like these would be a regular occurrence.

  8. Who started the trend to wear a mustache as a college wrestler?

Check out Flowrestlings "Stashies at Nashies". Those guys may be loud and obnoxious (Bader), but they're definitely trend setters.

  9. Say what you may. I just know that whatever is going on there is catching my son's attention. Now he might only be able to be tear manager, but he would be great at it. He is even starting to wear those shirts with a PEE on them.

Don't worry about anything Powerline says. He's to Purdue and the Ersland era what Bronxbomber is to IU. (Not that I don't agree with the IU situation)

  10. Indianapolis area:

    106 - #2 Klayton Anderson, Hamilton Southeastern

    113 - #5 Alec White, New Pal

    120 - #1 Breyden Bailey, Cathedral

    126 - #1 Chad Red, New Pal

    132 - #2 Brayton Lee, Brownsburg

    138 - #1 Brandon James, Perry Meridian

    145 - #4 Evan Smiley, Beech Grove

    152 - #5 Brett Johnson, Perry Meridian

    160 - #6 Brendon Helm, Avon

    170 - #1 Dylan Lydy, Ben Davis

    182 - #4 Connor James, Roncalli

    195 - #1 Blake Rypel, Cathedral

    220 - #3 Corvoiser Morrow, Warren Central

    285 - #2 Norman Oglesby, Ben Davis

Averages out to 2.71 by the rankings, not opinion.  Just for fun, can the Region, Evansville, or Fort Wayne do better?

    No
