  1. MAJAM152: I think you are wrong that CP onlybeat Chesterton by 3 0r 4 points during our conference dual. I couldn't find my record on it but I will try to get the score from our archives. If that had been true I wouldn't have went to the team state match with the expectation of us winning in a cakewalk. If you are who I think you are you are too old to remember the score also.
  2. Truth11 Boy for your first post on the board you sure show what an -------------------7 letter word you are. When they count the individual winners at state from each semi-state don't include the South Bend area then. The Merrillville semi-state has had the most winners for the last few years and most of them are from the region. When it comes to the Merrillville-Mishawaka match I'll pick Mishawaka and I don't think it will be close. Mishawaka has no weak weights
  3. SB Clay beating Yorktown isn't close to the upset of Chesterton beating Crown Point in the Team state regional 3years ago

  11. I'd like to correct an oversight on my last post. We are not ranked No. 1, which is certainly right. Where I saw us no.1 is the seeding at the Traicoff posted by CBarnett. We should see this weekend where we belong in the rankings.
  12. Thanks for keeping us no. 1, for probably the last week . We did lose a lot from last year. I don't think we match up very well with Merrillville, Portage and definately not Mishawaka. We do have a good possibility of having at least 3 state champs, but we have some definite inexperience at some weights. We will find out this weekend just how far we have or should be dropped in the rankings.
  13. Josh Flamme from Crown Point is only 4-0 so far this year, but he has not allowed a point in any of the 4 matches. He was ahead of Tonte last year at the team state championship until he got caught in tonte's well known headlock. You have Schurg ranked for CP at 140 and he is wsrestling at 130.
  14. cbBarnett: I had most of the champs posted and the scores of their final matches last night, when I screwed up my keyboard I wasn't smart enough to shut the computer off and try it again

  16. I don't think Portage ca n be overlooked. They gave CP all they wanted in a dual in January. They have an outstanding coach now and I'm not sure if Michael Torres will be back. He was a state qualifier as a sophomore but waws injured last year.
  17. Someone was wondering why Tsirtsis wasn't there. Got a call from my son-in-law, said Little T is wrestling in Iowa and has won his first 3 matches.
  18. Hey Royboy, Go to bed, it's way past your bedtime.
  19. I think Marcus Shewsbury should be very near to the top of the list. He was only taken down once all year and it was a slip. You have to be pretty strong to get the Iowa pinning hold on an opponent and there was nobody that did it any better than he did this year.
  20. Coach Hornet: Not that it matters, a victory is a victory, but the final score in the finals was 33-25. What a tre mendous venue Center Grove High School is to hold this meet. I wish our semi-state was held in a venue like Center Grove instead of Merrillville. You fans at Center Grove can be very proud of your facilities. Congratulations to all the teams that participated. What a wonderful day of wrestling, even if we had lost instead of winning. A true wrestling fan had to feel proud of your sport. A lot more exciting than watching a running back running into the opposing line for no gain, or for watching a tall center dunking a basketball.
  21. I'm surprised Crown Point is getting the most win votes. If they get by Roncalli, they will have a tough time with the winner of Mishawaka-Cathederal. Especially Mishawaka, I don't think they match up very well against them. there are two very crucial weighht classes should they happen to meet in the semi-finals
  22. I talked to a former coach , who has spent the last month or so in Florida. He went to the Florida state finals and said he much prefers ours. They have class wrestling and had 10 mats going on at the same time.
  23. You should see the picture of Anthony Hawkins jump;ing into the arms of Coach Vlink. It made front page of the Sports section of the Hammond times and the Post Tribune. He should be a high jumper for CP.
  24. I thought the twins from Ritter did an outstanding job on the singing of our National Anthem, especially when the second one chimed in with her sister. At first I thought she was just going to stand there, but boy when she chimed in what a difference it made. Congratulations to the board on their selection of the twins being the ones to do the singing and to the twins for what I consider about the best version of the anthem that I have heard.
  25. I liked the singlet that Stein from Princeton wore the best.
