  1. Yes, Surma will be going 140 for the Sectional. Yes, he has made scratch weight this year. Yes, he will be able to get back down to 140 for Sectinal, it is possible for it to be done.
  2. How many of you honestly pressed the ALT+TAB button the moment you read #2. Nice list WeeMom.
  3. That Guy, Maybe the part of Gonzalez beating Camacho was ridiculous to you. I have not seen the two wrestle each other. I was just stating my opinion on the matter based on what I have seen from both. I may be wrong, I have been before you know, and based on the info you have given, it seems I am way off on this one. If my opinion offended you, well I guess you can just scroll right past it and not read it, then maybe it will not bother you so much. Was this a dual meet they wrestled each other in?
  4. BUMP awood, Very clever, was gonna ask if this was the new way to BUMP, however I realized it when I quoted your post and seen the BUMP. I also realized it when I higlighted your post. I then realized it especially when your quote come up in the colored box!
  5. Mr. Right, That commercial has definitely withstood the test of time. I have seen that commercial for quite some time now! Did a little research............was filmed on May 20, 1985!
  6. Sean, Sounds like Tsirtsis is gaining some steam heading into the Sectionals. I think your coach did a fantastic job getting Acuna seeded #1 under the criteria that was used though I think it was pretty obvious to all who have wrestling knowledge who should have been the #1 seed there. I realize Tsirtsis put it on Napules yesterday, but I do think Napules would handle Acuna should they ever wrestle. Of course we will just have to wait and see, which by the way could end up being a ticket round match for either wrestler depending on the draw.
  7. Thanks clive, did not even read the previous pages. Sounds like it was something similar that occured at the County tournament at 215. Not sure what the team scores were, but M-Ville took one on the chin with the draw at that weight(125).
  8. Was this tournament seeded? Just curious, because it seems like Tsirtsis and Napules should have been a finals match.
  9. I think it does. Don't forget the abaility to insert wrestler A here and bump wrestler b there. Having choice of even or odd I believe is the biggest difference maker.
  10. You may be right macdaddy of them dropping the tourney, guess I should communicate a little more with part of the staff over there. ;D If that is true of the Al Smith, I guess it is not a bad reason to drop the current tourney.
  11. I should double check before I post, but I do not believe Munster dropped the tournament, but more of the other way around, they were the one who were dropped.
  12. 1982 119lb State Champ Fernando "Nando" Trevino (East Chicago Washington). I dont rememeber it, but I heard it really was not expected. Maybe the DA RAT could shed some light on this one, may have been around his time.
  13. Woird of advice. Take it easy on Friday night. I found out a couple years ago, I am not as young as I used to be. Had a great time Friday night, did not enjoy Saturday morning as well as I should have. Saturday night, I found myself in be by 11:30 (EST for us region guys). I am probably not going to enjoy Thursday morning after this post!
  14. Aahhh the fashion trends of wrestling. Back in my day, I guess as I get older I can actually say that now, it was the winter skull hats. Further back, I believe at one point guys actually wore robes, never can member the guy who wore one at state in the early 90's. Headbands, ankle socks, no socks, long socks, pink socks & thongs. Well the last two never really caught on. Long hair, shaggy hair, no hair, mohawk hair. Each periosd seems to have their own trends. I guess we can say we are now in the backpack trend. Looking forward to seeing what the future holds.

    130

awood1 I see your point on the matter, but let's remember those 3 Championships were in the past. He is currently the defending State Champ at 125 not even 130, and that was last year. I think the rankings have to reflect the current year. Take nothing away from Harp, I still think he will be a force to be reckoned with come tourney time, but their seems to be some chinks in his armor this year. I like the rankings guy rationale on this weight class. Of course I would like to see Frankie #1 here, but that may be a little bias coming out in me.
  16. Hey y2, How about a monthly article, similar to Toe to Joe about a former Indiana wrestler. The wrestler would have to be graduated from High School for at least 10 years. I thought it would be pretty cool to hear how our former wrestlers are doing.
  17. I would give the nod to Gonzo as well, I am assuming he is coming down and just wrestled 130 for the County tourney. You also have Wartman of LC, who should have beat Camacho at the County, but the ref missed what I thought were definitely some near fall points. Camacho won 4-3. ontherise219, I have to disagree, I think we can have some multiple champs coming from this regional, and definitely some high placers. I agree that they are not the clear cut favorite at their respective weights, but they are right up there.
  18. AJ, Have you been to the class wrestling discussion, if it keeps going the way it is, y2 will reach it by the end of the week!
  19. They way it was going last night, I thought this would be around 20+ pages already!
  20. First off would like to take my hat off to the entire Clark Wrestling Program for running the tournament. This is the 8th year this tournament has been in existance and third year in a row Clark has hosted. Really nice how they try and give you the State Final atmosphere with the no lights and spotlight for finalist intros. I heard a lot of complaints about the length of the tournament, and am guilty of thinking it was too long as well. However after thinking about it awhile, we have to remember that this is a 21 team tourney with wrestle backs to 3rd place. As well as a consolation bracket for wrestling to 7th place. All of which has to be done in one day! I am pretty good friends with the Clark staff and they are already talking about ways to improve the length of time the tourney last among other issues that arose throughout the day. Thank you Clark staff and volunteers for a great job today. As for Merrilville and Crown Point. I am sure their (CP) duals they have is revenue generator for their program, so I highly doubt they would give that up to wrestle in this tournament, and can't quite blame them. As for Merrillville, they are in a pretty competative tourney right now that is very beneficial to their team. If this weekend opens up for them in the future, I do think they would consider coming back to the County Tourney.
  21. Did not see any results anywhere. Anybody know who won this dual?

  23. ontherise, Probably hard to get a plow through those streets with the way the parking situation was up there. My side street was pretty clear when I got home! ;D
  24. I agree with pin2win about the comparison of if size doesn't matter, why not get rid of weight classes. It sounds like a good argument, but sometimes common sense has to take over. I relate this to an argument some guys try to make on my department. We are allowed to carry tasers on my department, but in order for you to carry one, you must as we like to say "ride the lightning" to have one issued. Some guys refuse to carry one because they do not want to be tazed and use the argument that "Well, I don't have to be shot to carry my gun." It sounds like a good rebuttal by the class supporters, but it makes as much sense to me as the "small schools just have to work harder" argument the some anti-class supporters make.
