  1. I got a story on a parent who was on the sidelines at last years Peru individual regionals. One of our wrestlers was wrestling this parent's son and our wrestlers were cheering our guy on from the bleachers. This parent went off on our wrestlers for cheering on their teammate. Then after that parent's child won, the dad got up in my face saying how his son was the man and our guy never had a prayer and just ranting and raving. Talk about parents living through their kids. That was ridiculous.
  2. #11 ranked Logan Randle lost to Jacob Armantrout (Muncier South) 10-2 and Alex Troy (Snider) 7-3.
  3. Correction at 145, Timmerman dec. Duke 6-4, not 6-2.
  4. The 112 pound weight class is loaded. Logan Randle (HN) is the #1 seed, Andy Franklin (H) is the #2 seed, #4 seed is Kyle Arenas (M), and #5 seed is Jacob Armantrout (MS). I don't remember who the #3 seed is off hand, but that weight class is full of talent.
  5. If you are looking for someone for the 8th spot at 135, Nate Linna from Oak Hill has looked pretty tough. I'm not sure of his record but hes doing well. He missed semi-state last year at 125 by one match and upset 2 wrestlers in sectionals who beat him last year (one of which beat him 3 times)
  6. At 189 Darryn Scott (Marion) beat 10th ranked Zach Garrity (Hamilton Heights) 7-3.
  7. Kyle Mazellan from Marion, who never placed in the top 8, beat Pat Day and Cody Johnson his freshman year of college, a few months after Day and Johnson finished 1 and 2 in state respectfully.
  8. I haven't seen Tanner Armantrout in any of the results. Is he not wrestling this year?
  9. Holloway went 145 and won that weight class, he will stay 145 the rest of the year. I hope your right. I'd lots rather see him at 145 then 140 or 135. I was talking to Hovermale and he said that he was going 140, Holloway 145, and Bratcher 160 for the remainder of the year. Holloway and Bratcher were struggling to make weight and Eastbrook feels that having Hovermale at 140 and Holloway at 145 will make them a stronger team come tournament time.
  10. I noticed Logun Taylor is now listed at 140, has he wrestle their this year?
  11. His only loss was to Chandler Pogue at 152, but he is wrestling 160 the rest of the year.
  12. Holloway went 145 and won that weight class, he will stay 145 the rest of the year.
  13. No, Scott had a 6-2 lead in the 2nd period over Kaufman and got too high when riding and got rolled under and pinned. Not taking anything away from Kaufman because he deserved to win and rightfully had Scott pinned, but Darryn didn't wrestle well this weekend and got too lazy giving up only his 2nd or 3rd pin in his career. On a positive, Scott learned from his mistake and will improve on it. 112 had some good matches, Randle beat Arenas 4-2 on a reversal with 15 seconds left and then beat Gradient from Noblesville in 3 overtimes. I also thank Huntington North for putting on a great tournament.
  14. No, Scott had a 6-2 lead in the 2nd period over Kaufman and got too high when riding and got rolled under and pinned. 15. Don't even ask fearless, Marion had a horrible day and I'm glad they were left off the results. There were several matches where we had 10 or 11 point leads and got pinned and we lost matches to wrestlers we beat earlier in the year.
  16. Jackson Bratcher of Eastbrook beat Quinn Kurtz of Prarie Heights in the 160 final by a score of 5-3. Abbott of Huntington North finished 1st and was named MVP, Kaufman of Renselear Central finished 2nd and Scott of Marion finished 3rd.
  17. There are two pools with five wrestlers. There will be five rounds in which one round a wrestler will recieve a bye. 4-0 finishers from a pool will wrestle 4-0 wrestles in the other pool and the 3-1 wrestler will wrestle the 3-1 wrestler in the other pool and so on in the final round.
  18. I'm not sure about complete family record in Indiana, but the Patacsil's of Logansport have quite a legacy. If Jake and Sam would've gone to school in Indiana that family would probably be on the top 10 wins list.
  19. Yes, Worden and Scott have wrestled twice. The first time Worden won 6-5, the 2nd time Worden won 4-3. Worden won fair and square but both matches came down to the closing seconds and couldv'e gone either way. For what its worth, Scott beat Williams from Homestead and Yoder from Maconaquah last year who both beat Worden. In Marion's next two tournaments Scott will wrestle Abbott (Huntington North), Kaufman (Renselaer Central), Garrity (Hamilton Heights), Green (Kokomo), and Worden (Peru). Should be interesting.
  20. 152 in the Oak Hill Sectional will be interesting. 3 guys with two losses or less and 3 returning semi-state qualifiers. Jackson Bratcher 10-1, losing to Pogue Dustin McGuinn 15-1, losing to Rutledge (Tipton) Chandler Pogue 15-2, losing to Young (Culver MA) and Minix (Winamac)
  21. No good huh? Lets see Scott has a career record of 82-16 as a junior with over 75 falls, is a 2-time semi-state qualifier (215 in 2007 and 189 in 2008), and dropped a 7-8 decision to Warner from Tipton who was a state qualifier at 215 the previous year. So I guess you are right, Scott is absolutely horrible. Now whether Scott places in state is yet to be seen, but there are a lot of kids in state who would kill to have his credentials, probably including you doughboy. No matter how well Darryn does in the tournament series (which I think he will do well), he will give his all and our coaches will be proud of him nonetheless.
  22. 152, i think bratcher was cutting too much weight, he didnt look like himself from what i hear
  23. Worden wasn't a state qualifier, he got beat in the ticket round last year. Chandler Pogue beat Jackson Bratcher tonight 5-3.
  24. I talked to Cardenas at the Marion Invitational and he said he will more than likely stay at 130. And spiral, I wouldn't predict anybody having a regional championship locked at the Peru Regional or any regional for that matter. Upsets can happen, its not like there is an Andrew Howe or Alex Tsirtsis at the Peru regional this year.
