  1. Seems to me that maligned and justadadnow are both on the right track, as ranking the top 3 potential sectional champs within each sectional separately, and then ranking the potential regional champ from the two #1's could be intersting also.
  2. Outstanding Wrestler Award - Roncalli's Josh Kieffer @ 119 lbs.
  3. Congratulations to the Roncalli Rebels for their success in setting the pace today, and also to the New Pal Dragons for their come-from-behind effort to catch the Rebels and tie the match @ 218 points each. Special shout out to the Dragon's Logan Lane @ 119, along with a couple of others who stepped up to fill injury holes in the lineup and made the difference for the Dragons today! New Pal finished with champions @ 135, 140, 145, 152, 160, 171, & 189. Roncalli's Josh Kieffer, #5 @ 119, had big wins over #8 Fisher of Martinsville and #9 Duncan of Beech Grove, and took home the Outstanding Wrestler award. Congratulations Josh!!

  5. Thursday, 1/7/10, New Pal @ Franklin Central - as per New Pal's AD, Mike Huey, FC's AD called him to say the meet was cancelled. Any others yet?
  6. New Pal's Jake Jennings, 160, 9-5 over Terrel.
  7. North Mont's website lists 9:00 AM, Thursday 12/31/09.
  8. I would also like to thank the entire staff, and all contributors, who have made the Indianamat website available to keep all of us wrestling junkies informed and entertained! Merry Christmas to all, and thanks again for all your efforts. Job well done!!
  9. Anybody able to get this broadcast? Is it broadcastsports.net? Would like to be able to follow the program. Thanks.
  10. Sounds like you're on the right path already, letting him feel it out a little on his own, and then see where his own curiosity takes him. If he's having fun, he'll want it for himself and probably let you know all about it! Good luck to you!
  11. As of last year though, they only advance the Sectional Champion team to Team Regionals, so Portage and Merrillville can't both advance.
  12. New Pal 40 - Roncalli 23 - last match fall points weren't posted on scoreboard. Trailing 22 - 23 after getting a fall @ 152, New Pal picked up falls at 160, 171, & 189 to finish with 40. New Pal 35 - Avon 33 Good day of wrestling.
  13. New Pal usually wrestles Warren at NorthMont, along with Perry, Portage, Carmel, Delphi, and the host team.
  14. That's a pretty good look at it right now, although J.R. Corman will move back into the starting lineup this week, just not sure which weight class yet. caliboy189, you're right about Kyle, if he stays focused he should have a very good year. Good luck to Andre and the PM guys. As usual, Perry sets the bar height in this area, and NP keeps aiming for it! 8)
  15. soup45, you took the words right out of my mouth. 8)
  16. justadadnow, I understand and agree with your point regarding a less experienced wrestler, which is what I was referring to in my previous post as "Coaching decisions happen". I used Jake as an example to point out to soup45 that New Pal's coaches acted similarly, with the best intentions for their wrestler and team in mind, and as spectators there is not much we can do about it. We just have to get over it. Also, we do appreciate your positive words regarding Jake and New Pal's program, and thank you for those. Good Luck to New Castle as well, and if all goes well for both of us we may get to face each other again before the year is out. More great wrestling. Gotta love it.
  17. ??????? 2007 Jake Jennings NP receives FF vs New Castle @ 145 lbs. 2008 Jake Jennings NP receives FF vs New Castle @ 152 lbs. 2009 Jake Jennings NP receives FF vs New Castle @ 160 lbs. Yet individual results posted online or elsewhere on this site show that NC wrestled at those weights against other teams. So just what is your point? Coaching decisions happen, get over it.
  18. Anybody able to post any results from the Circle City Classic yet?
  19. The best of luck to you both you are both very talented wrestlers I am just looking foward to this great match- up. I am not taking nothing away from you , you are a great champion!! Nice close Caliboy189, and I understand your anticipation, but here are some points to consider: Let's take a look at Big Mac's IHSAA history real quick, and the answer to your doubt's about his ability to move up in weight successfully may be proven baseless. Freshman, 35-8, finishing 7th @ 112. Sophomore, 33-4, State Champ @ 135, after moving up 4 weight classes. Hmmm.... Junior, 49-0, State Champ again, @ 152, after moving up 3 weight classes. Even louder hmmm... Now, as a Senior, moving up 1, not 2, weight classes as you stated in your over-ebullient support for your wrestler of choice, you're expecting him to be incapable or unprepared? I think not. I understand and respect your enthusiasm to support your guys, but why would you paint a target on them like you have? You're not doing them any favors stirring up the hornet's nest, but then, go for it.....
  20. Hoosier Heritage Conference Middle School Championships 1. Doe Creek - 381 Points (New Pal) 2. Pendleton Heights - 295 3. Mt. Vernon - 265 (Fortville) 4. Shelbyville - 246 5. Yorktown - 220.5 6. Delta - 173 7. Greenfield - 157.5 8. Rushville - (sorry, ??? missed this on recording :)
  21. I had no problem with Sandefer's break dancing, I just thought he should have waited until after shaking his opponent's hand and being released by the Referee rather than making them stand at the center of the mat waiting for him to finish.
