Drew Cummings 285 from Columbia City. He attempted wrestling in middle school, didn't like it. We talked him into trying it as a sophomore but wouldn't challenge the varsity guy. Never came out as a Jr, came back as a senior and made it down to state. He told me right after finishing his match that he wished he had wrestled all 4 years, and would like to wrestle in college now.

Columbia City has an old middle school and currently our Tech school's gymnasium/basketball court covered in 2 full mats if needed. Can also get 2 slices long ways if we need more. Averaged between 20-25 wrestlers the last 5 years.

Tie breaker is coach with the best looking hair, and since yours is now gone...you lose.

I believe Heath and Orrin wrestled 8 times that year. All won by Heath. All of Orrin's losses were to Heath, and went on to win it all the next year......if I remember correctly. I do not think Bloomington north and Columbus north wrestle as many times now as they did back then. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Columbia City's Post and Mail does a great job with wrestling. They also cover Churubusco and Whitko as much as they can as we are all in the same county. In fact one of the sports editors just left my classroom to get names for a picture. -
Columbia City had a female head Track coach last year, and I believe she is back again this year. Also I believe Joe Dubuque's wife is a volunteer coach out where they now live.
