  1. Damon Hummel was getting it done back when there was not a 215 weight class. If there had been, I think you can make the case that he would have been a 2x state champion.
  2. This is excellent. Thank you for taking the time and sharing with the forum. Keep at it man...this is good stuff.
  3. Excellent rundown...thanks for sharing.
  4. Pat Cassity? From the mid-nineties? *Edit...nope...he went to Bloomington North
  5. I wrestled at Southwood around the same time as Damon. He was a couple years ahead of me, but I remember watching him wrestle...the guy was crazy good. Super athletic. I agree with you...he would have rolled through a 215 weight class more than once.
  6. I watched this match from my laptop in my kitchen...at the end of that match I yelled loud enough to make the whole family come in and check on me. Holy cow...this is why I love wrestling...what a match. My hats off to both wrestlers.
  7. Seriously though...I have a program with approx 60 kids...I'd like to learn more about this and the flier posted here is the only thing I've seen. Anyone know where I can get more information?
  8. Is there anyone with contact information to sign up for the qualifiers?
  9. Any relation to Pat McGinley from mid 90's Cathedral? I wrestled him a few times back in the day...Good wrestler...tough match every time. I think I went 1-2 against him.
  10. HA! Violent Femmes...I remember that one. I think the explicit lyrics were a bit much for Coach. That tournament was pretty tough...a lot of state ranked wrestlers. I wrestled a guy that ended up placing 4th in the state...lost by one point to him. Ended up winning the consolation bracket...didn't place where I wanted to, but was still pretty proud of the accomplishment.
  11. I remember that tournament. I don't remember where I placed though. I just remember that there was a lot of good competition and a lot of fun.
  12. The referee getting in the way was mildly annoying, but I get it. Nothing you can really do there. The photographers though...those guys really annoyed me. They had to know that they were getting in the way of the camera.
