Those coaches at Boonville have done a great job with that program.
To see them lead from start to finish eas awesome.
Hopefully this will quite the doubters in argued with on here in the past about that program having good re odds but can't win in the state series.
Congratulations Boonville you deserved it and you earned it no one can take that away from you.

Boonville with the title win.
Castle made it close .
It came down to last couple finals. But Boonville held on .

On behalf of Silas, myself and the rest of our family....we want to bring awareness to how accommodating the IHSAA was for us this weekend. All of us (including myself) at times get so caught up in what we feel they do wrong as it pertains to wrestling, we can easily become blinded to the multitude of right they do. Mr. Faulkens seen to it we had All-Access passes, and we’re allowed in our regular seats at our convenience. That type of gesture deserves a lot of credit. Because in what is always an extremely exhausting weekend.....factoring my health, my wife having to carry my breathing machine and our youngest daughter, without their philanthropic gesture, this weekend would not have been possible for me.
I also want to commend Jacob Laplace and the Mishawaka Coaching staff. They had a tremendous gameplan of counter wrestling by the edge of mat to slow Silas’ relentless pace. We have been friends and thought a lot of Jacob and family going all the way back to 6th grade. He and Silas were always summer teammates with the Outlaws and forged a bond that continues to this day. Wrestling Family can be an equal bond as blood at times, because there’s such an understanding of the sacrifice involved for wrestlers, coaches and parents. We have a lot of genuine love for many of the Caveman faithful. Specifically the Sandefur’s, Fogarty’s, Walker’s and of course the Laplace family.
I’m extremely proud of Jacob’s effort. He wrestled Silas as well as ANYONE has the last 2 yrs. But more importantly....I’m proud of Jacob as a young man of faith. Indiana Tech stole a diamond in the ruff recruit! But Coach Pompei will undoubtedly help grow his solid foundation to achieve tremendous things at the next level.-The Allred’s
Saturday was the first time I've seen Silas wrestle and I must WOW that boy was a joy to watch and I look forward to seeing him at the next level.
So as a fan I'd say THANK YOU!!!!

I would like to shout out to JORDAN FAULKS of boonville for his 4th place finish that ties a school record for placement at state.
That kid lost an opening semi-state last year and dedicated his whole year to the sport is wrestling and it paid off.
I can say he was ranked 5th and honestly he was the 5th best over all but no matter what some trolls have said through the year about his lack of compatition or what has been said about his coaches .
That kid showed HUGE improvement from last year and us fans expect the experience to push him farther next year.

I was amazed at the close matches in some of the finals where couple of guys were up late and then get passive and give up takedowns or just points and lose in the waining moments.
You gotta stay regressive you gotta keep that rythem.
But I will say this year's so very competitive for the most part .

An expression of how my inner lightweight feels when I hear that name
I wrestled in the big8 back when G.S was a part of it and seeing him in 96 thinking I need to see his birth certificate cause he was GIANORMOUS like his ears had muscle it .
I watched him tight waist a guy with one atm while standing it was crazy

Other then Lee and Conghlin (questionable spelling) I don't know if any that have been ALL AMERICAN in college .
If there is more I welcome the knowledge.

Actually we were agreeing 95%. I guess if that's not good enough for you, then be annoyed and create a post to tell me about it. I'm not going to split hairs with you. We both agree he was very impressive. I'm very aware of what happened today. Why can't that be enoug
The way he performed there was no reason to say he lost at regionals .

Can we finally say Nick Lee is the best wrestler Evansville has produced? There was a wait and see approach but I believe he put the stamp on it tonight!
Sure hope he gets that TITLE this year he deserves it.

I thought the same about Gentry. Gentry won 5-2 at the Regional so maybe Dickens wasn't the 2nd best, but I thought both were impressive today. Really liked it when I saw Gentry go for and finish an ankle pick (Munoz match, I think).
We aren't talking about last week TODAY Dickens beat an undefeated kid and gave to Keys all he wanted but lost 3-1 while Gentry got MAJORED by keys .
so by the meeting the champ DICKENS wrestled over the whole day better in my opinion but we can agree to disagree on that I guess

@ Evansville The other Dickens, Ke'Tre of Avon knocks off Undefeated Race Stewart of Bloomington North 5-2, in Round 1
@ New Castle Jared Brown wins in Sudden Victory, 11-9 over Aundre Beatty in the Ticket Round
I'm a southern Indiana guy but I will say DICKENS impressed me today that kid wrestled his BUTT off he finished 3rd but let's be honest he was the 2nd best 285er today.
If he wrestles like that next week he could make some real noise.
