Now, can we petition the IHSAA to do a random draw of what weight class to start the finals, so heavyweights aren't always wrestling the most important match of their young lives as half the stadium is shuffling out to their cars to beat the traffic?

Official practices start Monday. What are some of the story lines you are most looking forward to this season?
For me, it's - can anyone beat Brayton, Joe or Mason? (the answer is no with Mason...and maybe with Brayton and Joe if we're lucky enough to see them in the same class).
Who will be the team to beat?
How soon before a heated class wrestling debate pops up? I also fully expect some debate on the fight shorts and the weights of ranked wrestlers being initially incorrect.
I'm mildly interested in how the Littel kid does with the new team come tourney time.
Will Silas Allred get on the podium as a sophomore? (He's one cool kid that you can't help but root for)
What teams have a chance to turn some heads for the first time in a long time (like Shenandoah did last year)?
I am also curious as to what Yorktown does with Alara Boyd. Is she going to wrestle high school?
Can't wait for another fun season. Hope all the wrestlers make weight with ease, everyone stays healthy and Indiana continues to get national attention for the sport.

We had a great time with this group of young men.  After going 5-0 and winning our pool, we ran into 3 outstanding academy all-star teams in the gold pool and went 0-3 to finish 4th overall.  Our guys really battled hard and carried themselves well.  Thomas Penola (Zionsville) went undefeated for Hoosier Hustle and wrestled out of his mind!  He was in great shape and pushed his opponents past their breaking point in about every match.  Several of our wrestlers rallied in individual matches to tie it up and then won in OT.  Each of the wrestlers on this squad undoubtedly had a weak spot or two exposed that they need to come home and work on, but that is why we go to events of this nature.  Many of the PA wrestlers really, really ride and turn efficiently on top.  Overall, a great experience with a great group of young men who each represented their school and community with great effort and sportsmanship.  Thank you to the IN and IL coaches who supported this project by allowing their wrestler to compete with Hoosier Hustle.  A special congratulations to Ty Mills and Thomas Penola who have committed to wrestle for Duke and Purdue respectively.  Two fine student-athletes!
As I told the wrestlers this past weekend, the upcoming high school season will be my 30th, and final, season as a head high school wrestling coach.  This past weekend was my last preseason event, and I, and our coaches, had a blast with this group of guys.  These guys were a class act all the way around!  Best of luck to all of the Hoosier Hustle squad members this upcoming high school season.

Coach Ward, and his staff, are doing great things at Army WP.  In addition to putting together a top 25 recruiting class for this season, they are "teaching coaches" in the room.  Coach Ward and his staff are on the mat working with their athletes in the room every day on cutting edge technique and skills.
As mentioned in his bio., Coach Ward wrestled at Oklahoma State under legendary coach John Smith.  Coach Ward's experience at OSU is evident in his work ethic and mentoring of his athletes.
Throw on top of all of that the fact that there are 5 Indiana boys currently on the WP/USMAPS roster along with a new coach who also wrestled in Indiana (Atwood);  with another IN senior commit for next season already.  Coach Ward has a lot of respect for IN wrestling and has put his money where his mouth is in recruiting in our state.
I am looking forward to Coach Ward's sessions at our coaches' clinic this month.  Should be some good stuff.

Colton and Brad are there in the Prep School. They do wrestle or condition sometimes with the team so Gunnar does see them. They will show up on the roster next year as Freshman / USMAPS. Both are doing great. By the way, Rooks, Columbus East, was on his visit to Army 2 Saturdays ago. The Army-Buffalo game Saturday. 

It is my understanding that Keith Davison is the new ISWA chairman.  I first want  to congratulate Keith on his new position and wish him the best of luck.
I would like to thank Louis Rosbottom for everything he, and his wife Sharon, have done for the ISWA over the years.  Their dedication and devotion to Indiana wrestling is immeasurable.   I had the privilege of sitting on the ISWA board of directors for roughly 8 years (a number of years ago) with the Rosbottom's.  When you start looking at the ISWA's annual budget meeting, services, programs, the ISWA office, trips, coaches, tournament management, etc, etc, etc, the ISWA is a HUGE undertaking and the Rosbottom's have been a positive influence and driving force behind all of these operations for many years. 
Thank you Louis for your servant leadership style of management.  Indiana wrestling wouldn't be where it is today without everything you and Sharon have done with the ISWA.
