  1. Speaking of that hwt division...someone please explain to me how the #2 seeded wrestler doesn't have to wrestle until the semi-finals, but the #1 seed does? Why do all of the others in the weight class have a bye the first round except the #1 seed?? I'm just not seeing where being #1 in this weight class is an advantage. Isn't that supposed to be the point of seeding and rewarding the higher seeds?
  2. Just an FYI - Kaiser Phillips is wrestling 285 this year.
  3. How does one get chosen for team IndianaMat? I saw the cool gear mentioned during the google hangout this week...
  4. Sage broke his arm at Richmond a couple of weeks ago.
  5. So, why do they have the seeding meeting on Monday and decide not to make the brackets public until Thursday?? What's the point of that??
  6. That seeding meeting was held beginning at 5 pm yesterday...before I posted that!! And I know what my son's seed is...
  7. I was just told that these will not be released until Thursday.
  8. Anyone know when the Delta Sectional brackets will be released??
  9. . For the record, you said that, not me!
  10. . You are right about that, but sometimes there are kids who don't get to face that competition, have a better win percentage, and are better wrestlers despite it. Also, I would have to check, but Calhoun might have beaten Halcomb at ECIC too.
  11. . Sorry, I refuse to be billboard fodder for someone right now. Plus, I haven't seen any Yorktown matches. So, my response would not really be an educated one. There is 1 weight class that I would potentially be willing to bet on them not winning that he has chosen, but again I will reserve that until I see the seedings.
  12. At 145 last weekend Calhoun defeated Halcomb for the county championship. I think he will place ahead of him.
  13. Really, Bigmak, Ytown will win EVERY weight class except heavy?
  14. Let's see the seeds first...
  15. Yes, it was! Would have loved to see him get a chance to wrestle Vaughn, but Vaughn actually wrestled 5 matches today. So, no chance to even try to set up an exhibition!
  16. I must say, I was very disappointed in the number of actual matches my son got to wrestle! I know there isn't much that the organizer could do, but out of 5 duals my son only got to actually wrestle twice!
  17. Monroe Central is not coming tonight (not enough kids have been able to get to practice), but will be there tomorrow. Notables mentioned @ 220 brings up Sofronko. Kaiser Phillips, MC, will be there and he's the one that defeated Sofronko by pin in the first period at ECIC...excited for the great competition that will be there! Should be a great test to see how he might perform at tournament time.
  18. Monroe Central will be there both Friday night and Saturday morning. Our wrestlers were told that they had to weigh in both days, for some reason. Saturday morning they get an extra pound...are you saying that there are two different tournaments going on there at the same time?
  19. When will these rankings be updated? The others have been a couple of times since these...
  20. At ECIC: Kaiser Phillips, Monroe Central, 220 lb Champion over Sofronko, Winchester, by pin in 1:36. Phillips had pins of :13 and :42 in his 2 preliminary bouts.
  21. At Raider Rumble (12/21/13) Kaiser Phillips, Monroe Central, 220 lb champion with pin over McCown, Southwood. At ECIC: Phillips 220 lb Champion over Sofronko, Winchester, by pin in 1:36. Phillips had pins of :13 and :42 in his 2 preliminary bouts.
  22. Kaiser Phillips, Monroe Central, 220 lb champion at ECIC over Sofronko, Winchester, by pin in 1:36. Phillips had 2 prelim bouts that he won by pins in :13 and :42.
  23. Kaiser Phillips, Monroe Central, 220 lb Champion over Sofronko, Winchester, by pin in 1:36. Phillips had pins of :13 and :42 in his 2 preliminary bouts.
  24. Kaiser Phillips, Monroe Central, defeated Nick McCown last Saturday @ 220. Phillips, a junior, returned to the mat this year for the first time since junior high. Has the potential to work into the 220 rankings.
