  5. Hate for The Cade? Come on now, everyone likes The Cade... Here some breaking news for you...Wade and the Rebels will be joining The Cadets for a 3 Day Camp hosted at Cascade in June...Welcome to any areas wrestlers...Cost is FREE... We have a generation of Cadets working hard to pave a new path...Give it some time! #letitbrew
  6. This year alone: I have to work to pay for my car insurance. Its too hard. We didn't play enough games last year. I'm gonna try out for basketball. I'm just going to lift. I'm going to focus on baseball this year. I don't want to lose weight. Oh and a couple of year's ago, i got...."I'm just too busy right now with my 4H rabbits" OMG!
  7. It was strange... We always take our scale with us everywhere we go in a multi dual environment. We shouldn't have assumed others would do the same. We should have asked more than one other team to bring their scale, but we didn't realize our scale was soo heavy and would cause such a ruckus so to speak either. Not sure what the rules allow for in a situation like this, but we left it up the the referees to make the call and that is what they came up with.
  8. It happened at Cascade this weekend. We hosted an 8 team 5 way dual meet. We only have one scale. Not one of the participating teams brought any of their scales as they have in the past. We had asked one team to bring a scale but they forgot it. Long story short Cascade's scale was certified and has a sticker and supporting paperwork stating so, but we found out last weekend it was a bit heavy in comparisons to others. Once all the teams arrived it was apparent that many wrestlers on each team were going to miss weight. Of course our guys were on weight because we knew no difference, it was our scale. The referees decided to weigh in all wrestlers and discuss at the coaches meeting. With many coaches upset about the situation and threatening to leave, the referees offered the solution of a 1 lbs weight allowance. Everyone agreed, so we moved on and wrestled the duals. But you are right, I am curious as to what the duals say about this situation. most kids were .5 to .9 over.
  9. Battling several "minor" injuries...Got to toughen up!
  10. Agreed, killing my office production as well!
  11. i was thinking "lunatic fringe" classic...But i don't think the boys will agree... Fetty wap...Oh how things have changed... i was also thinking stand alone by godsmack.
  12. What songs do your team warm up to for dual meets?
  13. My AD is looking for a ball park figure on a new wrestling mat. We would like a quick roll-up 6 section mat. Not knowing what a new one runs exactly, what could i suggest to my AD for a ballpark price tag??
  14. Gotcha, so this is a new thing as far as ISWA requiring this? Its all good with me, I spend 6-7 days a week inhaling the smell of wrestling mats, a little extra time is no skin off my back, but you know how parents are. I trust you guys are doing your due diligence to speed the process along.
  15. haha...Well i signed my boy up...But i think delays last time you guys had actual weigh ins scared a few of our parents away...Just being honest... Looking forward to it! See you Sunday.
  16. You think 45 minutes is enough time to get everyone weighed in. Whiteland was a cluster at weighins...Hopefully you guys have a trick up your sleeve...
  17. All great ideas....Thanks guys!
  18. My assistant teaches at the HS and has visited kids during lunch a few times. Definitely looking to improve our MS recruiting techniques. Our DARE officer is a a wrestling guy as well so he has been pushing for us. Was thinking about getting the Varsity boys to go over during lunch hours to talk to kids. I was able to get a lot of first year kids from the HS football team this year, but for some reason there just isn't a lot of interest coming from the MS. Definitely need to get creative if we are going to have consistent numbers until the youth program kids start coming up. Thanks.
  19. Our school is really lacking MS wrestling numbers. I started a youth program 3 years ago and it is going great with 50+ youth wrestlers (which is a lot for our small school). We have the numbers from 4th grade down. Varsity numbers are good for a few years, we have a lot of freshman this year. But we are really lacking numbers in between. Any ideas or tips on how to gain interest in the MS?
  20. In reference to communicable diseases, skin infections, ringworm, etc... Does a wrestler just have to have a note from his doctor stating he is no longer contagious or is there a specific IHSAA form to be completed by his physician?
