    State Picks

Gettinger... that's him. Thanks. Kids a stud! No one seen James losing at ss. Then Gettinger was completely dominating Harvey when Harvey couldn't continue. Just looked and he has Fuqua and Crume in his half. 126 looks rough.

    State Picks

Who's the kid that beat James and Harvey at the new castle semi state? I know 126 is stacked but that kid was impressive and seems to be getting overlooked.
  3. To 1 old wrestler No matter how you try to slice it, this years perry meridian team was one of the best teams Indiana has seen for a long time. They would have won the state championship no matter the format of the tournament. And.. I think next years team should be better. no I didn't go to p.m.
  4. Sounds like coach Tonte is finally reaping the rewards of his hard work. For those people out there who don't know him... I wouldn't look for this run to end any time soon. Congratulations to everyone at Perry.
  5. Do they recruit at pm? Do they recruit at md? How does this work?

    True 2nd

    106- Boston 113- James 120- Todd 132- Forte 138- Farrell 152- Kriech 220- Robinson
  7. Haven't seen anyone mention James. Perry Meridians 113. Am I the only one who thinks he has a good shot next year? I thought he wrestled tough. Is he really a freshman?
  8. Even though my semi state went through New Castle I must give the edge this year to merrillville. Pretty tough to argue with 8 champs. With that said.... has anyone figured up which semi state will return the most place winners next year?
  9. Of course we don't know where everyone's weight will be next season, but who do you have on your watch list as a potential to win a state championship next year? Team and individuals
  10. Clearly a kid just ready to get it on.
  11. I was equally impressed by how well Petrov wrestled and how Todd handled himself throughout the remainder of the tournament. Those are kids anyone should be proud of.
  12. Just wanna thank both wrestlers for everything they poured in to getting to this level. Talk about a tough weight class! That was one of those matches I wish no one had to lose.
  13. cody phillips not being able to compete. mason todd getting pinned. the way the mater dei kids looked. all disappointing

    UPSETS

I wrested for Tonte before he went to Perry. The guys been on a mission since long before he was Indiana famous.
  15. Terrible news! Probably won't even go down on Friday now. Good luck in getting better Cody.
  16. So... if Talamantes stayed at 215 who'd have been the favorite? He or Radnovich?
  17. Thanks fw06. That's is exactly my point/ theory. Fuller being the guy reaping the rewards of having a superior practice partner right now. Good luck to both kids. I always root for the little schools.
  18. I sure wasn't knocking union county. I think their coach does an awesome job considering the fact that they are a small public school. I was just saying that I think Phillips would benefit from being pushed by some more even competition at practice. I'd say for example... Lecount is being tested daily in the PM room. I have to assume Phillips can ease through everyone in his wrestling room within several weight classes. That doesn't serve him well. I think when he gets use to being pushed by guys his size (@Minnesota) he's likely to get much better. That's kinda scary.
  19. I'm thinking that if Phillips can adapt well to not being the stud of the wrestling room, he has a chance to be very successful at Minnesota. I feel like he's probably the more raw talent of the guys in this discussion. Not to take anything away from anyone involved in the U.C. program but they just don't have an equal depth of talent in their practice room as say....Ayersman, or Crume. (yes I know they had Duckworth) Am I wrong? Good luck to them all. I hope to see them wrestling for a big ten championship soon.
  20. Tsirtsis would frustrate him like he does everyone else. Tsirtsis 5-2
  21. Thanks for replies. I have always thought it was Radnovich. He completely dominated everyone he faced his senior year. I can't remember anyone going the distance with him that year. ? I can remember everyone talking about Talamantes cutting to 189 after winning it at 215 the year before. Everyone said it was to avoid Radnovich. I thought Lance Ellis went to Cathedral. ?
  22. I'm sure it's been discussed on here in the past, but I'm wondering everyone's opinion on who has had the most dominant single season in their mind / memory. There are several guys who have won multiple state championships, but who dominated the most at their high school peak?
