I agree. I kind of wanted to see Heath come back and win in the semifinal because I thought Freeman would do better with someone less familiar with him. No disrespect to Heath, I just thought Freeman and Montgomery were familiar enough with each other it would limit scoring, and would give KM and edge. Turned out to work out exactly that way.

Hate that Alec Freeman couldn't pull it off and make it a trio of champions, but Sollars and Baumann have had State Champ written all over their efforts all season long. Congrats to those two and all of the Wildcats on one helluva season!

Baumann was on the verge last year. He lost in SV to JaJuan Anderson Friday night, who ended up being the runner up. Baumann had an early lead and kind of ran out of gas. He's been on a mission this year, with tonight's match the only one that presented any real danger. Congrats to Brody!

Yep, MD getting wins from all 3 in the Medal Round, and the Inj Def from Jace Alexander helped a ton. Chesterton still has a shot. It's not over. Either MD or Chesterton could break 109.5. Could both?

Why is it annoying when it was a shot at a dumb comment by a PM fan in another thread earlier? It wasn't you, but I'm sorry I annoyed you. It had nothing to do with the kid, just an earlier dumb comment. That said, telling me to shut up won't get you very far. -
According to my rudimentary math, here is where we stand. (possible bonus not included) Chesterton has 8: 2 in the Final, 2 - 3/4th, 3 - 5/6th and 1 - 7/8th = 19 possible points Mater Dei has 6 : 3 in the Final, 1 - 3/4th and 2 - 5/6th = 18 possible points Perry Meridian 6: 1 in the Final, 5 - 3/4th = 14 possible points Cathedral 5: 2 in the Final, 3 - 3/4th = 14 possible points Crown Point 6: 2 in the Final, 1 - 3/4th, 2 - 5/6th and 1 - 7/8th = 15 possible points

That's exactly what I said.... Losers points are baked in. 3rd & 5th Place wins get 2 points. 7th Place gets 1. Just wasn't 100% sure. We're either both right or both wrong. Ha Ha

Am I understanding this correctly in that, going into the final round, a 3rd Place win is worth nothing more than a 5th Place win, outside of bonus point possibilities? I'm assuming that 4th, 6th and 8th Place points are already baked in at this point?

If I recall, someone stated he had not been past the 1st period all year until last night. Both of his falls leading into this match were in the 2nd period. -

Gabe really hasn't been challenged all year. He's been on a mission. Now we'll see if he can beat Buchanan for a 2nd time! Gabe's rise is similar to Tristan Ruhlman. Last year they battled at 170, in a trio with Rob Deters of Castle. Sollars beat Ruhlman a few times, then Tristan got his revenge in the consolation at state. Ruhlman finished 5th and Sollars 7th. This year both, have been unstoppable! -

I watched it. I guess we have a different view of the word waxing and dominating. I'll give you he was in control the whole match, until he started skating backward the last :30. But that was a solid win. If you want to see dominating, there will be many other matches to provide proper examples.
