  1. Also seen a couple of other wrestlers on here Carson Willis(Ca) fell one match shy of placing Seth Horty(Me) went 2-2 on the day. Good to see the guys getting some post season matches in some tough tourneys. I'm sure it'll pay off come season time.
  2. Bam Lawrence from Portage got 7th at 160
  3. Where was Red for all of this? I know it had to take away a little of your excitement for the Indiana boys, but by reading some of your other posts, I'm glad it didn't take away too much. Kudos to you and the crew.
  4. Congrats on being part of it now. I'll agree with MC, as prestigious and possibly a once in a life time opportunity, I couldn't see one not making weight. I'm sure there were several seniors out there like Rudy Yates, Taylor Lamont, Phillippi, etc that would have loved this opportunity.
  5. I've seen from other post that his dad was upset that Pletcher dropped down to wrestle Red. Not sure how true this is, an if it is the case along with refusing to work out to make weight, Red just took the FREE trip knowing he wasn't going to wrestle. Very disappointing never the less. On a positive note though, kudos to Doster for stepping up knowing he's taking on one of the best in the nation(who's now pissed). Just to clarify, the other post I was talking about, said the same thing as Y2 in regards to Red refusing to work out.
  6. I agree that Y2 wrote a great piece on this. In the other hand, I'm not sure how you know Red will change for college. He has progressively gotten worse in the last couple years. We can agree though that hopefully he'll straighten up. I honestly don't expect to see big things of him at the collegiate level
  7. Im not a hater, just stating the obvious. As far as the match goes, we'll never know. Only one real champ showed up for the MAIN EVENT.
  8. In a interview with Flo earlier this week, Pletcher said he was really looking forward to another match with Red. That's the heart of a true Champ.
  9. Congrats Drew and way to represent. You sir are a TRUE CHAMP. best of luck at MSU.
  10. It's just Red being Red. Good luck Nebraska, you'll need it.
  11. Seth Horty went 0-2. Glad to see him venture out and push himself at such a tough tourney.
  12. I stand corrected and was wrong in this post. I apologize to Tim for my post.
  13. I'm pretty sure I have never said I knew their family plans, what they were saying to other wrestlers or referees, or what the refs were saying to them. I hope to see Paul back as I think he's one of the top wrestlers in the state.
  14. No, here was the real WOW that shocked everyone. First of all, we want to thank Indiana Mat, Mount Vernon High School, and the Ihsaa for all the great opportunities they have provided for Paul and all of the Great experiences we have enjoyed together. Our hearts will always be with Mount Vernon Wrestling and wish everyone there well. Due to several opportunities and situations in Paul's life we have decided to move him to Indiana Connections Academy, which means he will no longer be wrestling in a High School program. This was a very hard decision for him to make but we are convinced it was the correct one. He hopes to continue to represent Mount Vernon and Indiana @ a national level. That being said, any opportunities that may present themselves to be a part of an Indiana team would be much appreciated. So, now the question is, Is Paul coming back?
  15. I have heard from many people that his dad and coaches weren't on the same page. Dad wanted things his way and Coach Alcorn had his way of running practices, meets and so forth and didn't feel he needed to change for one person. I've heard this from refs within the area along with parents of MV wrestlers.
  16. Let's hope his dad approves of this discussion or we may miss Paul again next year.
