  1. I am a huge LC supporter and to clarify, Kyle actually beat Beck at semi-state and for his first title. No biggie on the omission, just thought I'd clear that up. That being said. Kyle isn't walking through any title this year. I think Phillips will give him all he can handle. Kyle keeps the score close, which scares me at times. He's always seemed to come out on top in those matches, so we'll see how things go. I'll obviously give the nod to Kyle in this match, but realize that Phillips is a dangerous opponent. Also, Cumme did some nice things in his match versus Kyle at the Al Smith, so I wouldn't count him out. My honest opinion is that he is just a step below Kyle and Cody, but not a very big step, so if he gets hot he could give Kyle and Cody some trouble.
  2. I was there and you're wrong on him not trying to win the match. The kid was winning the match for the better part of 5 minutes. He was a judgement call takedown away from beating a state champion. It was the best finals match of the day, and a smart match for Hartman. I personally thought Malloy was going to put a takedown clinic on in that match, but clearly Hartman realized he couldn't stop each attack and wrestled close to the edge. My point is, if you weren't there, don't make a nonsensical post about whether a kid was trying to win a match or just stay in the match. Hartman and his camp had a great game plan and it nearly paid off.
  3. I know that my question may appear insensitive due to the fact that life clearly takes precedent over a sporting event, but with that being said, is the Al Smith invite in jeopardy of not taking place? Coach Snyder in an intregal part of that tournament and right now he clearly has a different focus. Knowing what I know about hosting events, most of the leg work is done, but it just seems that the Al Smith is secondary to what the article has reported. Again, if I come off insensitive, totally not my intent, just curious.
  4. Oh I remember Knura from a few years ago, a stud as a soph, and I wasn't implying that he wasn't on their level, my point was that if Kral is ranked #1, which he is, then Robinson isn't far behind. It will be fun to see how things play out.
  5. It was an entertaining match. Robinson scored first on an escape, kral gets a take down and escape to start the third period. Robinson didn't do much offensively but showed no fear. If kral is # 1 then Robinson is #1 A. I look forward to seeing them wrestle later in the year and Robinson at the Al Smith. No disrespect to the Michiana 220 pounders, but I'd be shocked if Robinson wasn't a finalist at Al Smith, he's much improved.
  6. I would agree that there's no campus life in the traditional sense, but they are receiving a free or reduced education to wrestle. There is no money in wrestling post college, unless you are one of the rare few, so getting to continue to wrestle while getting an education IS the selling point of CCSJ.
  7. TheGeneralsDad, Perhaps I don't quite have the sense of humor that you do, but what exactly were you trying to imply by your last sentence? Oh and just because you add the notation "Just Kidding", doesn't make an insensitive comment acceptable.
  8. I'm not sure how many losses Fuqua has, but if he does truly have one loss, it's to Buckley of Valpo. I watched the match and remember a 4-2 score. Consequently Fuqua has beaten Buckley 3 times this year, all good matches.
