  1. I don't know Coach Tonte personally and don't know if he even wants to wrestle the afore mentioned teams. From a fan's perspective it would be great. Perhaps coach has looked into this dual and it doesn't work for his team because of the scheduling issues Fabio has brought to the forefront. It's as simple as sending an email or posting on a message board to find out if Paris, OPRF, or Marist want to put a dual together and have interest in wrestling Perry. It might benefit Perry to wrestle a second tier team in Illinois and put it on them to get some of the big boy's attention.
  2. ontherise, I know this is minor, but I want to say that the Mishawaka final between Robinson and Eby was more like an 8-3 final. It was 8-2 and then Robinson let him go at the end once the match was soundly in hand. I'm not sure if you have the ability to change that in the key wins/losses section.
  3. I'll take Gelen Robinson as the best athlete hands down, that's 106-HWT. He's pretty good at all three of the sports he participates in on the high school level.
  4. You're probably right on the score, I don't remember the match that well, but I distinctly remember leaving the tournament far more impressed with the progress of Scott than I was with that of Rodriguez. I've seen Tony since then, last week in fact and he looked pretty good and had some nice scrambles in the 3rd place match at the Al Smith. On a side note, I wish CP, Merrillville and Lowell were making the trip this weekend. I understand why those teams opt out, but it would be nice to get all the schools there one of these years.
  5. Rodriguez looked much better at Mishawaka than he did at the Harvest. He's clearly worked himself into better wrestling shape and looks more fluid on the mat. I've not seen Scott since the Harvest, but he handled Tony easily in that early season match-up. From a fan's point of view, I hope the match is a lot closer. Good luck to all this weekend.
  6. I could see this one coming down to criteria if they wrestle it true to the weight classes with toss up matches taking place at 132 and 220. I won't break down the individual match-ups, but will say that if Merrillville has a good back-up at 170 that can give up only 3, I can see Stevenson getting 6 at 182, taking away 6 I would give to CP if they wrestled it true, thus causing a 12 point swing in my original score. Also, with this taking place during the week, we could see a Garcia/Fuqua match-up, or CP could bump Fuqua and take the points at 132. Either way, 2 guys way smarter than me will be making those decisions and it's going to be entertaining. What is the date of this one?
  7. I can't speak for those two corps., but if school is cancelled in our corp., no sports teams can hold a practice. So if what Y2 says is correct and all corps. follow the same policy, then they'd have to get the 1lb. On the flip side of that, the kids would have a whole day to get some cardio in to make weight, so I would hope they'd take advantage of that if they needed to make weight.
  8. I think I was polite and not attacking at all, but you don't respond to that. Continue getting your bottom slapped and look like a fool when Y2 or others big brother you and put you in your place., I found it comical when you required the help of someone far more seasoned than you to run to your aide and defend the fact that you are a buffoon. Carry on omniscient one.
  9. Fabio, Understand that this entire topic was started by someone who wanted to find a place to improve as a Greco wrestler. Your troubles again started when you gave your opinion about Greco, and while you didn't call it "stupid", you had to discuss how Greco would hurt this kid in other forms of wrestling, when he clearly stated all he wanted to do was GRECO. I've been saying it for weeks, respect the views of others and understand that at 24 you don't know it all. Y2 tried relaying the same message to you, which seemed to slightly break through. It's a discussion board, so let's discuss and respect the opinions of others, it may be hard to believe, but you are not always right and not everyone will agree with you. I too realize the same about myself, I'm probably wrong more than I'm right! Have a wonderful holiday and I look forward to future debates.
  10. Did Macke ever win a title? I know he placed 3 or 4 years. I only ask because if he did, that MD team would have 6 eventual State Champs from that one team. I know Coughlin eventually won 2 titles, so that's 5 champs at the very least.
  11. Ah 10/4. He met 2 of 3 criteria, his last name is Davis, and he wrestles 120 .
  12. Davis would have to be 19-2 because he also has a loss by tech fall to Micic @113.
  13. Perhaps you don't get it. My sharp remarks to your responses at times are to give you a clear example of what it feels like to pose a legitimate response to a post and then have a complete (ass) yourself give a childish response. So my "grumbling" response you are referring to is not me being upset at all, just trying to prove a point that is clearly over your head. If your spelling and grammar are any indication of that, I'll understand why my point was missed. But I'm "stupid" and you are so smart, so I'll anticipate an enlightening response to this post.
  14. Thanks for such insightful information, however we live in Indiana. Back to the question, we do this with our kids and our varsity coach is very cognizant of the rules.
  15. I see good points in both your arguments, and I don't find anything stupid about either one.
  16. You're a young kid, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, I was trying to provide you with friendly advice, but carry on as you wish. You clearly know all at your age.
  17. Mavros was a special circumstance, but I will agree that Petrov gets the most out of his boys. I was super impressed with the 160 pounder they have. I don't want to say he came out of no where, but he's an upperclassmen and I'd never heard of him until he beat an impressive field at the Harvest Classic. Perhaps the field wasn't great, but he certainly stood out. The rest of their line-up fought hard all day as well.
  18. Fabio, I respect your views for the most part and know your passion for this topic lies with the fact that you want the team dual format reinstituted, but when you use words like "stupid" and "dumb" to prove your counterpoint, it makes you sound for lack of a better word, "stupid". I think you do a good job of supporting your views, no need to put down another person's opinion. As you and many other have stated, it's a messageboard, with the intention of wrestling discussion my man, we aren't always going to be in agreement, but at the very least we can respect each other's opinions, you post often and like I said, I repect your views and your passion for the sport.
  19. I saw him wrestle on Saturday and have to say I was impressed with him. If Peek is #7 then he's #7.5. He looks like he's about 100 pounds if he's lucky, so if he were at equal strength I could see him in the top 3 at 106.
  20. River Forest's 126 pounder had a great day at LC, no idea what his name is, but he handled Vandas and Reitz with no problem. Reitz had an impressive win over the Calumet kid in the semi's. Not that it's any news to anyone, but the gap between Micic and Davis is huge. I thought it would be a closer match, but left wondering if anyone will/can score on Micic. He's impressive, and a gracious winner. Saw him congratulate and encourage every kid he wrestled today. Left impressed with Micic as a wrestler and fine young man and with River Forest's kid as a wrestler.
  21. I appreciate the effort. So you had your two examples from Mishawaka and my two examples makes 4 so far when they did not match-up, during Mater Dei's run I'm confident that each year they won they won both, the past two years it matches, Crown Point won both. So while we aren't going to get the pure team champion, some are hoping for, more often than not the two actual do match.
  22. I asked a simple question regarding the number of times the team that won the Coach's Trophy also won the Team Dual title. I know twice off the top of my head that they didn't match-up, when Lowell won it 2000 and when Griffith won the Coach's Trophy and finished second at the Dual Team event. I'd like to know how many times it's actually matched up, I'm not trying to determine what is the better system, but actually trying to see if more often than not they are the same winners.
  23. Out of curiousity, how many times during the team dual format did the team that won the team state title also win the Coach's Trophy? Just looking at the past two years, the Team that won the Coach's Trophy also happened to be the team that won the team state title.
  24. You start your quote by saying "you won't speculate", and do just that with your statement about Boston being on the top of the podium if not for that thumb injury. Boston could have had an extra two thumbs at the state finals in my opinion and would have had nothing for Micic. That kid was head and shoulders the best 106 lb wrestler at Conseco last year. Best of luck to him in Kentucky, but please don't imply that his thumb kept him from winning a second title that's making excuses for the kid, and taking away from the hardwork Micic put in.
