I voted for the boosma match, why? because to me, that was the one match that truly had everyone stop breathing for a minute. Boomsa was 46-0 going into that match, comes out and gets pinned well leading 7-2! huge upset!!!

Well, it was fun but the officating was the absolute worse that I've seen for a state contest. Several officals made bad calls, or missed calls or flatout weren't paying attention, especially during a match Friday night(no I didn't have a dog in the fight) but there was some very blatant unsportsman like conduct and the ref did nothing. I also witnessed the same ref count out for 5 sec near fall but only award 2 points instead of 3. These are not the only examples, there are many many more. I think the ISHAA needs to do some rethinking on the refs and how they chose them.

agreed, ive seen alot of mistakes by clock operators during the course of this tourney, but it still sounds like the ref got the call right. Now should it have been corrected right away yes but it wasnt.

:o Are you kidding me?! By the time this would even get to court, State would already be over. Talk about being a sore loser. Im sorry, i understand a mistake may have been made but what this boils down to from what Ive gathered so is Kieffer stopped wrestling before the whistle was blown, had he kept wrestling, totally different ending im sure. I hate to say that but thats moral of the story, wrestle till stopped. But Ive read this thread probably 5 times now, I still cant tell you what happened because of the stories changing and being different. If the ref made a mistake, ok deal with that but until the video is posted, nobody is going to be able to understand exactly what happened.

Funny when someone unexpected steps up and wins semi-state , someone always has to come out make up excuses as to why the kids he beat didn't win. If henderson is such a stud, then a little cold wouldn't have stop him. He got beat 19-3, thats the end of the story there. Besides, it wasnt even in the finals. Rieker stepped it up and beat 2 other good solid wrestlersin Moody and Giesmeir to win the whole thing and I don't see either one of them on here crying about it.

Does it really matter who was rooting for who fan wise? You guys make it sound like the crowd won th match and are taking away from what was an awesome match between 2 awesome wrestlers.

Thank you, that answered my question unlike leggin89 who is missing the point and thinking im accusing the bracket maker of being wrong, which IM NOT, I was simply trying to understand how brackets are done, not questioning the ones posted here. apparently someone is touchy on the issue

So now that the regionals are settled, who do you all think we place in top 4 at evansville in each class?

Are we 100 percent sure on the score of Collet over Emmit? Im hearing 8-0, 5-0 and 7-0 and 6 -0 all from different sources including 2 newspapers?

But from memory, Horrocks did on a couple occasions put his legs in after the kid stood up. And the ref did warn him to stop. Although horrocks should have been given a point for an illegal slam after he was slamed by the kid after the ref had stopped the match

I will say this about th day. The ref horrocks had during the match in question made horrible calls all day, even had to ask other refs what the rules were. I also saw him hand out a ton of coaches warnings for often times no reasons at all. Not sure what his name is but he needs to be re-evaluated before renwing his license. one of the worse refs ive seen all season. Now I gained a lot of respect for Sam Horrocks. He got hurt but wrestle 2 more matches despite barely being able to walk, that takes guts. and to win 3rd on it was amazing even though I was routing against him and for shuler but never the less thats tough. The Riekers looked solid today. Baron had a good rematch with Resch and Zachs come back win was awesome. Steven was the one I was really interested in seeing him up against Kerr. He pretty much dominated it too . Kinda was hoping Emmitt would beat collet again but collet was on a mission today. Over all, I have to say this regional had some of the best and tightest matches Ive seen in a long while. and Jennings County Sectional was very tough against the others for the first time in a while

Actually, they are quadruplets, not triplets, everybody always seems to forget that they have a sister that was born the same time too. ;D I agree with most of your predictions but I think Emmit at 285 vs Collet if they both get to finals is gonna be a huge and tight match. I see the winning points coming at the last second or seconds again. Not sure who'd Id pick but if they make it, look for an awesome battle for the crown. I also think that Steven Rieker at 135 is on of the most improved wrestlers in the area since last year. I see a determination in his eyes that wasnt there last year. I hope he can make it deep into state. I think Zach and Baron Rieker both have a strong shot at making state as well but I also see them having a chance to make it to saturday of state depending on how they wrestle (provided they make it to semi-state of course, everybody does have a back) at semi state and their match ups friday night. Baron made it at 119 last year, drew the defending state champ right out of the box. Wrestled a very good match and tight match, only got beat by 3-4 points if i remember right.
