  1. Very impressive. Good luck to Farrell for the rest of the tournament.
  2. ^ THAT is most likely my favorite comment I have ever read on here. And since "The" has finally joined, I find it appropriate to bring this back up; Enjoy. http://indianamat.com/messageboard/index.php/topic,18180.msg126955.html#msg126955
  3. I will wahoo you every time I see your name.
  4. I don't believe it is... Lawrence calls himself the Ikon Legacy. And since this has been brought back up, I'd like to recommend Casey Adams @ 160 for Jimtown. Qualified for semi-state as a freshman, and I can see him qualifying for state this year.
  5. Shaking hands. And we'll see where this leads.
  6. Ahh, I just got mine yesterday. Too bad I couldn't have waited an extra day.
  7. At 126, the top 4 are all ranked in the top 7. That will probably be the best semi-finals and finals.
  8. #5th ranked Tanner Adams is probably not going 195. He talked yesterday about 170.
  9. Looking at the preview, I'd say you guys did an amazing job with it! Wish I had the money to purchase it.
  10. Brooks is one of my most confident state champion picks this year. As good as Brandon James is, I can't see him beating Jarred.
  11. He lost a close one in the ticket round to the 5th placer Dominique Price.
  12. Congratulations to Cody! I wish him the best in college.
  13. ^ I can't see both Hurford and Berry making 182.
  14. I wouldn't consider him a dark horse really, I'd think most people would be expecting him to be one of the best incoming freshman. 30 second pin against Joey Mammolenti in the middle school state finals is quite impressive. I'd bet on Conseco for him.
  15. If we're throwing out wahoo's, the second part of your post definitely deserves one.
  16. That was old news. The new news is that he moved back to Indiana like a month ago.
  17. I recall the match quite well, actually, and I think you're way off the mark here. I have nothing against your son, but he didn't dominate at all. He got a 5-point headlock and got cut for his 6 points. Whereas Lawrence got an escape and got a shot on him just BARELY in bounds in the second for 3 points. Two takedowns in the last period got him 7 points. How can you honestly say your son dominated when he got taken down 3 times as opposed to one headlock? Your son did good, but Lawrence deserved the win because he kept going until the very end. It could have gone either way, but it was Lawrence's day. And not to be a jerk, but think about it... If Dre lost his first match, how could he have beaten the kid that got 3rd?
  18. Tanner said last week he weighed 185 and I've heard Brandon is over 200, can't confirm it's true though. 106 - Steven Micic.... Since I am assuming he has gotten bigger(Sophomore year is normally when kids start gaining weight) and probably has less weight to cut than Boston, I see him pulling out the win in a close one. However, Boston winning would obviously be no shock. 113 - Jarred Brooks. Can't really see anyone beating him and the only person I think has a small chance(Paul Petrov) probably won't even make 113. 120 - Brenden Campbell. If he can make 120, I see him pulling out a championship here. Mason Todd will make it hard for him though. 126 - Kyle Ayersman. Can't really bet against a 2 time state champion that won the previous year. But I would love to see Nick Crume pull out an upset. 132 - Jarred McKinley. Ranked in the nation and DOMINATED state at 125 last year. If Neal Molloy wrestles 132 this year though, it will be likely one of the best state matches. 138 - Devon Jackson. Runner-up two years in a row... Not happening his senior year. But if Molloy goes 138, he'll give Jackson a good challenge, but I wouldn't bet on Neal beating him. 145 - Jason Tsirtsis. Yeah... 152 - Connor Mullins. Actually don't know much about him, but judging as he is a runner-up last year, he's likely to win it all his senior year. 160 - I have absolutely no idea. 170 - Tyler Willis. Been in the top 3 both years and this looks to be a lot less of an intense weight class than 171 was last year. 182 - Tanner Lynde. Only placer at 171 that didn't graduate, and he got 3rd at that. 195 - Mitch Sliga. 2x Fargo champion is expected to win state. Kourtney Berry could upset though. 220 - Is Keith Knura wrestling this year? If so, I pick him. If not, I pick Tyler Kral. 285 - Abraham Hall beat the heavyweight state champion FOUR times last year. Also had a victory over the 4th placer and took the 3rd placer into over time. I'd say that makes him the favorite.
  19. The is going 170, so he won't be in the way.
  20. Exactly my point, it's too early to say someone will be a state champion when you have so many amazing wrestlers floating around that weight.
  21. Don't get defensive, I wasn't attacking you or any of the guys. You compared how Phillips would do against Ayersman because of how he did against Campbell, so I did the same with Phillips and Brooks. And my part about Goldman is saying that the higher ranked guys that aren't talked about as much as the top 3-4 can still win it all. Like I wouldn't be surprised at all if Nick Crume or Cody LeCount won it all at 126, but that doesn't really make them no names. They both had great seasons last year and could both give Phillips a great run. I'm sorry if it seemed like I was attacking Phillips or trying to start something, because I didn't mean to come off like that. Cody Phillips is really good, I can't argue that a 2x state champion isn't good. I just think that he'll get a great challenge at 126.
  22. In my opinion, if Cody couldn't beat Brooks, I can't see him beating Ayersman. Plus you can't forget a bunch of other great people in the mix. I mean, how often did you hear people saying Garrett Goldman would win state? I can't recall a single person saying he'd win state in the predictions thread.
  23. 126 may be a really good weight class this year. Phillips, Crume, and possibly Campbell and Ayersman will make the state finals fun.
  24. Our seniors were Matt Hill, Collin Crume, Eric Forrest, and Zach Myers, and our 103 from last year isn't doing it this year. But we have a MUCH better freshman that will be taking his spot.
