I would love just 1 time to see someone not win a match till sectional, then rain on everyones parade all the way to state... cant remember his name, but wrestled Pat Cassidy in the finals but only had a few matches by the time he got to the final match....anyways Hoping that we have a so called "Dark Horse" this year with 1 of our guys who has been out for 2 years, but is back and fired up this season and has a former Big 10 wrestler in the room to push him all season, and knowing that Benard has never beat us is a great feeling, that we might have a "Dark Horse".......

We will be looking for 2 more teams for the 2011-2012 Frankfort middle school invitational on March 3rd which will bring us to 16 teams... Current list of teams are as follows Frankfort-Logansport-Lebanon- Greencastle-Kokomo-Peru-Oak hill-Maconaquah-Clinton Central-Anderson Prepatory-Elwood-Attica-Wabash-Rossville.....If you have intrest and would like more info please email Billy Birge wbirge951@comcast.net We have the best Hospitality room in the state bar none for the coaches and officials...just ask 1 of these schools....All Kids on team will be able to wrestle...Varsity in 1 Gym Jv with as many entrants as you want in the other Gym, jv gym done by the semi's of the varsity so everyone is able to see the finals...Great tournament with a lot of state qualifiers coming through as jr high students.....

If i'm right it looks as if the Evansville semi-state wins the battle this year as most in the finals....We'll see how the champions come out though....Go Merrillville semi-state.... Evansville-10 Merrillville-8 New Castle-7 Woodlan-3

i will look at the video tomorrow and do exactly that, and let you know the outcome, unless someone can do it sooner...very interesting situation and know personally that jarred has worked long and hard for this and am very proud of him, just wish i could have been there to see it...taking nothing from joe, understand your frustration of wanting to have the trio together to represent, as to having it happen....personally have seen it first hand, at semi state in 99 in the ticket rd where my brother a Returning state champion had andrew bradbury on his back for 20 sec and received no td or nearfall, (video evidence) but he got up respectfully shook his hand walked off the mat and watched as bradbury finished 2nd that year in the state, but to this day accepts what happened and moved on.....so YES I UNDERSTAND.....

Ok i had the opportunity to talk to lance as well as the winner Jared Lawson today, lance and jarred were both unaware of the 5 seconds, and lance felt that the match best be served in overtime, and was upset(understandable) jarred was doing what i teach all my boys,"WRESTLE TILL THE REF TOUCHES YOU" , and this is why..."absolutely the correct thing to do", especially in a tournament with several whistles....So to say kieffer was dominate and got robbed is a bit far fetched cause we will never know the outcome if the match had went into overtime as jarred might have still won...as far as the 5 sec run off, as a coach it happens all the time that a ref runs it off in his head(disagree with) BUT DOES HAPPEN as for ridiculing jarred, and saying he was LUCKY, we have enough negative publicity in our sport right now,that we need more praise...as for the "terrible officiating" if you feel it was that bad then please go take the $75 open book test and display you knowledge to the whole state,until then accept what you get...Yes i am from FRANKFORT, and no i was not there ,thats why i talked lance personally...congratulations Jarred hope all serves well at state...

The sacrifices she will have to make to play with the boys...and it does and will happen, but sure she has accepted this since the start....have never seen her but Good luck Kayla!!!!

After this weekend would not be shocked to see all 3 Frankfort boys make it out....119 Perez looked very impressive and strong Hwt Howard pinned 40-0 #9 wallace and beat #19 melby....lawson @ 140 has some quality losses and lost to white 3-2 in the finals after getting caught with 40 sec left....Miller @145 from Rossville has only loss to Scurria both finals of Sectional and Regional....just my opinion, thats why we wrestle the matches!!!!

For the record, the first time that i got cauliflower ear i had a set of triangle headgear on so the use of headgear is not the sole reason for getting it...try wrestling the right way is what causes it...straight forward hard nosed WRESTLING...if you don't want it, i would suggest not getting on the mat, but if you do then try the go to your back to the fetal position move i will just about bet you'll keep your ears as nice as new, but but suffer chronic back pain-------------> so pick you poison...

I was 38lbs in 6th grade with 5 F'S class clown and going natta... i began my seventh grade year the same way then my P.E. teacher said Billy you would make a great 70 lb wrestler and we dont have 1.. so i went and watched after practice loved it. went home told my parents that i HAD to have some wrestling shoes cause i was gonna kick some big boys asses at practice tomorrow, i realized that this was legal punishment and fell in love with it...Today and Forever i owe everything that this great sport of Wrestling has given me in my life, from path of destruction to father husband coach friend and Role Model... yeah i could probably get there pretty easily 1995 103 today a solid 107..... ;D im thinking that in 10 more years i could go back to college and go 126.....hahahahahaha

I believe Steve Hall....North newton class of 95 went into semistate at least 2 time spotless and was a national team member and had many impressive wins against top placers with a very impressive career record with help from matburns BUT could never win the Big Match...great kid...was big in the iswa and sombo level...correct me if i am wrong been a while.. -

this 103 class looks very good for petrov i believe being that the other 3 brooks phillips and stevens are the other half of the bracket and will more likely have a tougher road than he will, not to say he has it easy by any means,but as far as using all the fuel in the tank the top half of the bracket will be rougher and i believe it sets up perfect for petrov to likely pull the upset in the finals...
