    No they don't throw them in the trash. THE sport at Mater Dei is wrestling and everybody knows that. The current way our program is run is the way it is and Mater Dei has shown they can compete the the highest level for the longest. Let me correct they have shown they can dominate at the highest level. If football and other sports were run the same way wrestling is, Im sure some of those football teams from back in the late 90's and early 2000's and some of those baseball and basketball teams in the early 2000's were truly the ''best'' in the state but we will never know because its run differently for other sports. The beauty of wrestling is the current way its run. We take what we get and make the best of it no matter the situation. We can't change the way things are run for other sports so we make the best of it.

    Gonna go ahead and butt in on this one. Yes the catholic schools COULD attract student athletes and do they? Who knows we all have our opinion on that one. But i can vouch for MD they do it all with good ol' family tradition. And my thoughts on class wrestling? Pointless. We really do want to know who the best is. But as I was saying in an earlier post it would be nice to see wrestlebacks for our current system. But say your school 1 (the big school) and you have wrestled the best competition all year long and you win team state against the best competition do you want school 2 saying they are worthy since they have won a ''team state'' title against lesser competiton? Wrestling is about being the best PERIOD. to the smaller schools if MD can do it anybody can do it so stop whining about how you do get any recignition if you want it go out there and earn it. Lets not ruin the sport we have basketball to show for what classes have done.

    Yes. Castle came along real well at the end of the year all of their wrestlers really improved throughout the year and without Tonte in the lineup and the intensity of team state for both teams would make it awesome. But we will probably never get wrestle backs for team state. Like Coach McCormick was saying, they worked so hard to get to team state and in 2000 and 2001 and have nothing to show for. To make it to team state is great, but why not reward the top 8 teams in the state instead of the top 2?

    For him to go out there and stick Kuhn says something. And I thought he handled the pillow fight that Keif threw after their match very well ;D

    Ha no kiddin. I think castle/ perry dual would have been awesome.

    I would have to take Tsirtis over mullins 10 out of 10 times. Bad day? how about wrestling the best competition. 8-0 is getting dominated Tsirtis never stopped wrestling. if it was a 1 or 2 point match maybe make this comment. Who does new castle wrestle in the reg season? I always see kids with 50 plus win and no losses but then when it comes to state they never do as well as expected.

    yes i was VERY impressed with Sam and Nathan at the end of they year. I hope they work hard in the offseason and come back better next year

    I think MD will send a few to state next year. Sims and Boots are a lock. MD should do very well and be very tough next year. Lannert- tough and very talented just has to put it all together Weinzapfel Henderson- finally gets over the hump next year Schroeder 2 time SSQ I think he makes it his senior year Brandenstein- I think if he didnt have reese 1st round at SS he could have made it VanWinkle- Really came along at the end of the year and wrestled well at SS. Mangold will find a spot and I have a feeling he will suprise alot of people next year. Raben- wrestled smart all year long and suprised alot of people at SS. I think at best we could send 6-7 to state. Nothing wrong with being positive ;D

    The bottom line here is treat others how you would want to be treated. Put yourself in his shoes and think to yourself if this situation happened to you would you want to get treated the way he did? These ADULTS have no right booing a high school athlete who is out there giving his best and nothing less. Willis if you ever read this keep your head up and stay around the support of your family. You are a great kid and great athlete. You have a bright future. As for the fans who booed him, shame on you. You should feel disqustied about yourself. This shows what society has come to.
