  2. Are there going to be any good matches at the holiday classic this year?
  3. Wrestling guy in no way was I trying to put down any kid, heck if I would have had such laxed calls on stalling when I was in highschool I woulda takin advantage of it in a lot of matches. If Fisher or yourself took it that I was saying he stalled his way to victory then I appologize. I did not even watch that match cause I was watching the 3 and 4 match. However, I did see alot of what some call counter wrestling and it is ruining a sport that I love to watch. When I was in highschool if you backed straight to the out of bounce line more than once you were hit. If you stood at the out of bounce line for any amount of time you were hit. It is taking advantage of poor refs that has made the style called counter wrestling. If one guy Is attacking all the way to the out of bounce if i'm the ref he had better make his counter move before they go out or he is stalling. Anyway I mean nothing against any wrestler the simple fact of the matter is that the refs are there to stop stalling and I would stall if I needed to until the ref finally stepped up and gave me a warning.
  4. That is simple The Refs don't apply those rules anymore. The most you may get is a point but don't hold your breathe. So go on kids stall your way to a state title or if that doesn't work just run as hard as you can to the out of bounce line on your feet, Ride the hips on top, and try as hard as you can to get your one on bottom. Hopefully the other kid doesn't have the same strategy. Either way don't worry the refs will allow you to bore me to tears with your stalling rituals and you might (if you are the best staller) even win a state championship.
  5. No to metion that when theckman says E'ville he means all the schools in E'ville. Reitz, Harrison, Mater dei, Central, North, Bosse, and close enough Castle. Along with all the other schools close by like Mt. Vernon, North Posey, Priceton, Vincence lincoln, and how many other Terre haute Schools there are, thats a lot of the Semi State making a 3 hour drive.
  6. In my opinion that last match came down to a very questionable call on who had control. I am not from mater dei so I am inpartial to the matter, however I think sims over welch at least doug welch is very possible.
  7. And rankings guy not to knock norton at all (he's obviously a very talented wrestler) but he would have to have some better credentials on the year than a 1-0 victory over#6 faurote and an 8-4 victory over #15 Zink to be a lock on the state final. though I'm sure he will place and probably in the top 4.
  8. :D This is what I was saying on my picks for state this class is nuts and everyone is right this will be a class were alot of things could go right for some and very wrong for others. Go Get Umm 135 pounders this weight is up for grabs. ;D ;D ;D
  9. I was very disapointed to see Mcellhiney and Sulawske wrestling first round, Both are very good wrestlers and unfortunately both seniors, that I think could advance. The match ups sometimes are just hard to swallow. Good luck to both wrestlers.
  10. I believe it all starts at 9:00 am and that is way better than chompin' at the bit waitin' til 12:00 to roll around like last week.
  11. i'm just saying the upsets from Semi-state to the State finals are boundless possibilities at the 135 lb. weight class. Please respond if you disagree or want to add anything more to what I have said.
  12. The last part of my message is not very clear, i notiticed. I meant to say that Guerra shouldn't be counted out and I would have liked to have seen Norton verse Rueger at the Connersville tourny. That would give me a good Idea of where I thought Norton would place in state.
  13. To reply to Extra6's question I think that the lack of seeing the southern wrestlers in big matches during the season may be letting some of them go unnoticed. Rueger has soundly defeated weinzapfle in both of there matches. Weinzapfel has defeated Weekly who has had a close over time match with the ranking guys #1 pick, Barlow. And that is why I believe that I will not have a pick for the 135 lbers until we see rueger and barlow as well as a couple others face off at the semi state in Evansville. Furthermore I also have seen the mishawaka kid wrestle, and I wish that Norton would have been healthy for the connersville tourney cause I believe him and rueger would have been the talk for quite some time.
  14. 103 Hall over Vanhook 112 Kuhn over Welch 119 Griesemer over Moody 125 Hoehn over Sulawske 130 Schroeder over Meliff 135 Rueger VS Konrath 140 Whetstine over Chamberlain 145 Sims Over Welch (personally a coin toss I think ???) 152 Welch over Rickenbaugh 160 Smith over Brandenstein 171 Weiss over Stein 189 Rosebrock over Price 215 Froehlich over Adams HWT Hammelman over Daughtry
  15. ... opps wrong button :-[ anyway 125 wright (warren central) 130 tsirtsis (crown point) 135 who ever wins the eville semi (vague i know but i think there may be an upset on the horizon, at least one 8) ;D ) 140 porras (hobart) 145 roach (crown point) 152 welch (castle) 160 mcmurray (portage) 171 duckworth (union county) 189 sliga (fishers) 215 cleveland (lowell) HWT james travis (merriville)
