Are they going to be mad that some people want to promote Indiana wrestling some more and give the kids and coaches that work their butts off recognition for their hard work? I find that pretty petty personally. I offered to help, but my offers weren't taken in until yesterday after this site was created.

You're lucky I have about 3 million other things on my plate right now to discuss class wrestling! If you look at the stats I posted, I also did a breakdown with the top 5 extremes(both ends) taken out. http://garrettwrestling.com/proof2008.html You have to remember the team with the most state qualifiers in the past 11 years is Mater Dei who is a small school. They have had 84 state qualifiers, which is 3.4% of all state qualifiers. The next highest school is Lawrence North with 58.

The more kids that are out for wrestling the better the wrestling will be. Simply put if every kid in the state had to wrestle at least one person off for a spot it would make for better varsity wrestling. I personally believe class wrestling would help improve the number of kids in the room at the programs that are struggling and having a hard time filling a line-up or having decent JV numbers.

The Present First off, I want to say thanks for joining the community. While I am the guru behind the development of the site, there are others that are helping to make this a great site. Just a little background on why I started this. Obviously, most of you know I posted once in a while on the old board and was having withdraw symptoms without having it for almost a week. So with the encouragement of some less tech savvy people, I pulled the trigger and started this site Tuesday night. I have always been kinda jealous of the Illinois site(http://www.illinoismatmen.com) and thought that it would be great to have one similar in Indiana. I have also seen sites that promote wrestling in Ohio and Michigan. I honestly want to rival them and help to give recognition to the many hard working and dedicated wrestlers in Indiana at all levels. The Future We will not be wasting any time delivering quality products to the Indiana wrestling community. I plan on having at least one article up on Sunday or Monday and have quite a few ideas and starting the wheels turning on them. If you have a suggestion, comment, complaint, feel free to contact me as we want to serve the community the best way possible. Here are some of our ideas for articles and sections: Dingo's Den- Yes Dingo and I have made up and he will be doing a weekly article, not exactly sure what it will be about at this present moment, but he is a great writer(even when putting me in my place) so it will always be a good read. Toe to Joe- If you didn't know my real name isn't Y2CJ41, its Joe. This will be a hot seat type 10 question interview with someone involved in wrestling, from coaches to refs to wrestlers or some old guy that has dementia. Under the Spotlight- This will be like a "getting to know" with people involved with wrestling. These will be quirky questions such as your favorite food, music, etc. Weekly Roundup- This will be of the week's big meets and match-ups and will include college results of teams and individuals from Indiana Class All-State Selections- Similar to how cross country does it, we will announce All-State selections for 3-5 classes and top 4-8 at each weight class. Spotlight Match-up- This will be a preview of a big meet or match during the week with breakdowns and analysis of the match-ups and teams. Of course there will be more, but we will work to make this a great website. If you want to write, know someone to interview, or have some suggestions feel free to contact me. Barroquillo also beat Gonzalez last year at the EN Invite. Its quite a circular, who beat who scenario. Now it looks like Steven Ross from Concord is back at 112!

The thing is you are still going to get more kids from big schools at state. Right now approximately 75% of the state qualifiers are from big schools. That is the data from the past 11 years. Adding another 16, 8, 4, etc qualifiers will just mean 1 out of 4 of those qualifiers will be from small schools. So if you add 16 qualifiers you get 12 more from big schools and 4 more from small schools. I would rather have 12 more from small schools and 4 more from big schools.

I agree Peru lost two matches and tied one(but won on criteria) and jumped 6 spots into the top 10 in the newest poll. Usually the seeds at the Triacoff are pretty good so you shouldn't have much to worry about. JW does his homework.

I guess a phone icon means that. I can't see it. Right now we have an hour drive to Berne so I need to pass the time somehow.

Discuss it all, I hold no favorites as they all help the kids get better.

With the rule about having 4 dual meets in place now, I think Alex's record is safe.

Tell me your favorite features of this forum. One I just found is that it has a mobile page that is flat out sweet. I can access the site from my phone and its perfect. I also like the warning you get if someone replies to a post while you are typing your message. Any other cool features or even suggestions?

Obviously the coaches were affected by the board being down! Peru loses twice and moves up 6 spots? New Haven gets killed by East Noble and moves up too? Yorktown drops out after beating Peru?

Tell him he is more than welcome to use this site to update the information. I would love to add a lot of the information he has to this site. Do you happen to have an email for him?

I think we might have, I'll have to look at the results again. I'm waiting for a few more team's results and line-ups before i shift the team rankings.
