Dave Cloud
Coaches--I am doing a research project and could use your input. I am looking for commonalities among healthy high school wrestling programs. The concept is to have a set of metrics that a coach could use to compare his/her program against to look for ways to improve. I have listed some items below but would like to hear some of your ideas of things commonly found in strong programs. Thanks for your help! 1) Retention rate for freshmen who complete their first season 2) Number of home dual meets 3) Average roster size over the last five years 4) Middle school roster size last five years 5) Themed nights for home meets (youth nights, alumni nights, first responders, most influential teacher) 6) Music used at home meets 7) Regular schedule for uniform/warm up purchases Dedicated booster club for your team (separate from all sport booster club) 9) Administrators (not just AD) attending home meets 10) Use of team building activities Edited January 21, 2022 by dave c clarity FCFIGHTER170 and Gasman
Trinedad
Sounds like a very worthwhile expedition. I wish you luck in your quest. I would be interested to see what kind of response you get from this. I see that this could really help a young coach when they go to set up a club designed to feed their high school program.
