dadofa149#er
Can anyone tell me what the growth allowance for middle school is? When do they get this and which weights? I have been told that some weight classes get the allowance and some do not, Is this right or not?
littlevito
I'm pretty sure that there aren't any weight allowances in middle school. The seasons across the state are different. Some are in the middle or coming to an end, while some seasons are just now starting.
TeamGarcia
Some schools do some don't, our Conference doesn't allow it (Sagamore) but our County (Hendricks) does 1 or 2 pounds depending if it's a back to back dual. Indiana Middle School Wrestling isn't United like High School . More in likely your going to have to ask your Coach or AD .
jlittlejohn
Basically, there is no governing body for Middle School athletics within the state. The IHSAA strongly recommends that Middle/Junior High Schools follow the same applicable National Federation of High School (NFHS) Rules and applicable IHSAA By-laws. That being said, most Middle Schools operate in concert with other local Middle Schools, beit; city, county, conference, etc. In doing so many exceptions and/or variances (such as weight classes) are agreed to by association or simply gentlemen's agreements at the beginning of an event. I have seen many different circumstances where teams have agreed to a weight allowance, but, those have again been simple gentlemen's agreements.
