Muncie consolidating into one high school next year, ending Munice Southside HS.

Just read that Muncie school board voted 4-1 to consolidate into one high school next year.  The reasoning comes from several years of student enrollment drops and budget issues.  Starting next year the HS will be located at Muncie Central with Southside to become a middle school.  This reminds me of the Anderson Highlands (which is just south of them) which closed a few years back for similar reasons.  Southside High School has produced many talented individual wrestlers and some top level teams from its opening in 1962 until the present.

The 4-1 board vote last night was not one I wanted to hear.

Muncie Southside has been a huge part of my family for many years.

Muncie Southside wrestling has been very kind to the Bradley family. I will always be grateful for the high school and the wrestling program at the high school.

I feel honored to lead the team this year in its last year of being a high school.
