chambers Posted January 28, 2011 Share Posted January 28, 2011 If you are in a sectional with more than 8 teams the first round forfeits or the result of an actual match between two wrestlers does not get scored for team points. If there are 8 teams or less in your sectional then all results count. Placement points. 1st = 16pts 2nd = 12pts 3rd = 9pts 4th = 7pts 5th = 5pts 6th = 3pts You get 2pts if you advance in the championship part of the bracket. (no points for advancement out of the first round of a sectional with more than 8 teams). You get 1pt for advancement if you advance in the consolation part of the bracket. You get 2pts for a win by fall, forfeit, disqualification, or injury default (except if this happens in the first round of a sectional with more than 8 teams). You get 1.5pts for a technical fall (win by 15 or more points than your opponent). (except if this happens in the first round of a sectional with more than 8 teams). You get 1pt for a win my major decision (win by 8-14 more points than your opponent). (except if this happens in the first round of a sectional with more than 8 teams). In tournaments, individual placement points shall be awarded as soon as earned. Placement points already earned shall be deducted in case of forfeit (other than injury) or disqualification from the tournament. Points for team scoring shall be awarded as follows: a. Two team advancement points shall be scored for each match won in the championship bracket, except for the first-place match. A wrestler who receives a bye in a round where at least one match is wrestled shall be awarded two advancement points by winning the next match. No points are awarded for the bye if the wrestler loses the next match; b. One team advancement point shall be scored for each match won in the consolation elimination, except for the final third-, fifth- and seventh-place matches. A wrestler who receives a bye in a round where at least one match is wrestled shall receive one advancement point, provided the wrestler wins the next round match; c. Two additional points shall be scored for each match won by default, disqualification, fall or forfeit throughout the tournament; d. One and one-half additional points shall be scored for each match won by a technical fall; e. One additional point shall be awarded for each match won by a major decision; f. in tournaments scoring four places, the winner of each championship semifinal shall be awarded 10 place points and the winner of each championship final shall be awarded four additional place points. The part that is wrong is that if you are in a sectional with more than 8 teams there are no points scored from the byes if you win the next match. Is 4 the most advancement you can score? If you make it to the championship match they yes you will get 4 total advancement points. If you win in the round of 8 you will get two advancement points. Then if you lose you go to the consolation part of the bracket. If you then win you would get the one point for advancement into the 3rd place match for a total of three advancement points.
