What is the date of the invite?  Go Mustangs!

December 29th, IIRC.  I'll have to get on the website and check.  I plan to be there.

This is great; this is the kind of competition FC needs.  Good competition while making sure they aren't getting in over their heads (a la Carmel, Cathedral, Mater Dei... you get the idea).

If anyone knows who's going up to Caston and over to Zionsville this year, that'd be great too.  Shoot I don't even know who's going to be at our own invite lol.

This has been a good team coming.....  as they were very good at the  middle school level 4-5 years ago. I think that many coaches in southern Indiana expected these kids to make some noise.  Kudos to the Patriots (the alma mater of Jay Cutler!)

And of Jon Goldsberry.

Weiss broke Goldsberry's wins record in the second meet of the year.

Coach Matt Thompson has created a solid base for upcoming years.

Dylan Bender weighed in at 170, but wrestled at 189 due to the regular being sick. Bender, who wrestles Weiss every day in practice may be one of the best 171 reserves in the state. Going 4-1 and giving up 19 pounds is no easy feat.

A little background story about HH wrestling (and football)...

There had been some resistance from the football players in the past to wrestle due to weight/strength concerns.

There are now a number of football players who wrestle for the Patriots (Luebbehusen, Maldonado, Hawkins, Terry, etc...).

I'd look for HH to make some noise individually in the middle and upper weight classes in the near future.

Sorry Chris had to steal your idea.  I'm pleasantly surprised with Fountain Central's showing; this is the kind of competition that makes individuals and teams better, and to perform this well against this level of competition is remarkable.  FC's faced some stiff opponents this year (Reitz, Carmel, Center Grove, Mooresville, Zionsville, Calumet, Pioneer, the teams they faced at BD, among others) and the Mustangs have done well overall.

Congrats to all.
