  1. Just wanted to remind everyone about INHSBB.com. The state finals are set and we would love to have as many people on there discussing the games as possible.
  2. We've mentioned IndianaMat a few times over there, including how well it took off without much time at ALL. It's on a first page thread over there right now.
  3. I'm sorry about that I failed to realize that we do have some ladies on the board lol.
  4. Gentlemen, Y2 has been kind enough to let me bring up the new Indiana HS baseball forum on here, and I want to take the time to invite you all over to http://INHSBB.com INHSBB.com went live a week ago and has been steadily growing each day. I decided to post here because as Indiana sports fans, I know most people's interests do not stop at wrestling (wrestling has always been my first love, but personally I follow all sports). All IndianaMat members interested in High School Baseball in Indiana are encouraged to join. INHSBB.com is FREE to all members. It is in the startup phase so please do not be alarmed by the lack of posts/population. Instead, I encourage each and every member to join INHSBB.com and invite anyone that you think would be interested. Lastly, we're going to need moderators over there; there's just the forum owner/admin and myself. If you're interested, you can either send a PM to Kyle Kinder (the forum owner) on INHSBB, or you can send me one on here and I'll relay it on to him. I would once again like to thank IndianaMat and Y2 for allowing me to post this informational topic and I encourage your membership and ideas. http://inhsbb.com
  5. Any word on Fountain Central results?
  6. Joey Engle, 125 (2nd at Zionsville Invite) Eli Moore, 130 (won the Zionsville Invite) Both from Fountain Central. FC's wrestlers are usually good, just not always state-ranked.
  7. I like the look of this field. Fountain Central wrestled at the Zionsville Eagle Invite over the weekend (should be called the Zionsville Meatgrinder). Placed 7th of 8, but against some very very solid competition (Evansville Reitz, Carmel, Center Grove, Mooresville... you get the idea) and had some solid individual performances. In my opinion, this tournament along with the Ben Davis Super 16 will give us a good indication of how good the Mustangs are and how they can expect to fare in the C-ville sectional. This was always my favorite tourney... I remember when Concord, East Noble, and Culver Community were all there. A two day gut-check. As far as this year goes for FC, I would say watch for sophomore Eli Moore at 130 and his brother Scott (all-state DB) at 189. Engle at 125 and Shoaf at 171 look to be solid so far as well. I don't know a whole lot about the rest of the team as I haven't been able to get in the room yet this year due to military obligations. But all in all, it looks like they've gotten into wrestling shape quite nicely so far (they were playing football in the Oil Can just a couple weeks ago). Any other thoughts? BTW, if you can't tell, I'm a Mustang grad myself.
  8. Found the article in the Commercial-News. I think FC is the team to beat with NV close behind. Individually, look for Scott and Eli Moore and Sam Shoaf from FC to have big years. NV's got Miller IIRC. A-town still has Bachman if they're still wrestling (I hope they are).
  9. how'd the FC invite go? i haven't heard anything yet and wasn't able to make it.
  10. December 29th, IIRC. I'll have to get on the website and check. I plan to be there. This is great; this is the kind of competition FC needs. Good competition while making sure they aren't getting in over their heads (a la Carmel, Cathedral, Mater Dei... you get the idea). If anyone knows who's going up to Caston and over to Zionsville this year, that'd be great too. Shoot I don't even know who's going to be at our own invite lol.
  11. I can't say enough about what Coach Shoaf and Coach Deel have done with that team. Shoaf came back when I was a sophomore and we had maybe 8 people (somewhere around there). Deel joined him I think it was my junior year and we had about 11 or so. My senior year we were like one short of a full team and had a couple JV wrestlers to go along with it. Now it seems like they have more than enough to go around and I think interest in the Mustang Wrestling program is greater than the basketball team and swim team put together. And I love it. When I'm home on leave from the military over the holidays I plan on helping out up in the wrestling room (mainly so I have an excuse to go running before practice to keep myself in shape). I might be able to provide some small details about the team.
  12. The year I had to cut, it was pasta. The other ones I didn't have to worry about because I was one of THOSE guys (you all know what I'm talking about... the one who weighs like 6 or 7 lbs under his weight class and couldn't help it)
  13. Most of Fountain Central's underclassmen are back. I've been talking with Trent Spear's dad and he MIGHT not wrestle, but he missed last year with an ACL injury anyway. Andrew Mitchell got hurt in football but from what I'm hearing he should be in wrestling shape before too much longer. Haven't heard much about anyone otherwise because the Mustangs are still playing football. That squad last year only had two seniors (Chase Minick and Derek Jackson) and this year they'll have three (four if Trent wrestles this year).
