Sectional Previews – Jimtown Team Regional

Westview, Elkhart Memorial, Plymouth, Mishawaka

The four sectionals that feed into the Jimtown team regional can be separated into two distinct groups. The Elkhart Memorial and Mishawaka sectionals appear to be dominated by the host schools while the Westview and Plymouth sectionals are wide open with three or four schools at each site seemingly capable of taking home a title.

MISHAWAKA

The Mishawaka sectional features the entire Northern Indiana Conference (except for Elkhart Central) along with Northern State Conference member LaVille. The Cavemen are the clear favorite to take the title and the only mystery might be what line up will coach Darrick Snyder field for the individual portion of the state tournament series. South Bend Riley and Penn will most likely duel for second place as the look to advance as many individuals as possible to next week’s individual regional at Rochester.

PLYMOUTH

The Plymouth sectional features three teams that could find their way to the Jimtown team regional. The host Pilgrims along with Warsaw and Rochester all appear to have enough scoring power to come away with the team title. Tippecanoe Valley, with their line-up healthy is the dark-horse.

ELKHART MEMORIAL

The host Chargers are again the clear favorite with a legitimate chance of qualifying thirteen individuals to the Goshen individual regional. Elkhart Central, Jimtown, and Northridge look to challenge for second place. A weight class to watch is at 171 where the top four wrestlers are serious threats to become state finalists.
