- Mishawaka may advance all 14
The site of the 2009 regional is different this year but the teams that are likely to reign over the field are no different. Mishawaka, South Bend Riley, and Penn look to advance the most wrestlers to the Merrillville Semi-State. It should be an exciting atmosphere in the Rochester gym with many outstanding individuals also attempting to advance from the Plymouth sectional.

The mighty mite from Warsaw is the favorite but Stoneburner is coming in with the momentum of his sectional championship.
Best first round match: Witous vs. Matt Lindsey - 28-2 (Triton)
112
Projected Champion – Paul Beck – 25-2 (Mish) – Possible regional qualifiers – Garth Simpson – 41-3 (Roch), Alex Gregory – 26-4 (Penn), Nick Nielson – 17-8 (SB Riley).
Beck has the big match experience but Simpson is long, strong and a hammer on top.
Best first round match: Nielson vs. Dalton Overmyer – 19-13 (Culver)
119
Projected Champion – Justin Brooks – 32-0 (War) – Possible regional qualifiers – Matt Guerra – 28-4 (Mish), Cory Hildebrandt – 32-4 (Penn), Josh Olsen – 28-5 (SB Adams). One of the toughest weight classes in the state is equally tough at Rochester. Brooks is a step ahead of Hildebrandt and Guerra.

Best first round match: Manbu vs. Ben Sokol 23-4 (Penn) – This early match-up is really a toss-up and will determine if an excellent wrestler must hang up the head gear early this year.

Projected Champion – Adam Keener – 29-4 (War) – Possible regional qualifiers – Tim Forte – 22-4 (Mish), Austin Kunze – 16-11 (Penn), Isaac Yoder – 32-5 (Tippy Valley). Keener and Forte looked to hook up in a barnburner of a final.

Projected Champion – Richard Morin – 27-6 (Mish) – Possible regional qualifiers – Adam Arsenault 21-9 (SB St. Joe), Malcolm White 27-8 – (SB Wash), Kyle Ullery – 27-8 (SB Riley). Arsenault caught fire at the sectional last week, Ullery did the same last month in his third place run at the Al Smith tournament, and White is always dangerous but it will be the consistent Morin who will top them all at Rochester.
