  1. Andy, It is not on our schedule. SO I am guessing not! Good to hear from you, Keep your eye on Sean. Colton's body with a Chess Player mind,,,,,,he could be special.
  2. Thanks.....but already had that planned~
  3. Hello All, I am happy to be back to Indiana Matt.....My oldest son Graduated in 2011 now my youngest is in high school (Bloomington South) and I will again prowl and engage in interest of the forum. LOVE THIS SPORT! Rod
  4. June 23rd-29th. Cost is $500, covers transportation, food, room and tournament fees.
  5. We are taking two teams to Disney Duals and need one 189 and one 215 pounder. Send me a text or an e-mail if interested. Rod
  6. Thanks for the explanation! Mistakes happen and if it was a single weight class (yes my son was JR-215) no problem. We were not provided with any explanation that is was a single class so I assumed that everyone was waiting that long. Again I thought it was one of the best big tourney's I have ever been too. Thanks for all the effort and time!!!
  7. My son also had a very long wait for early matches. His 1st match was at noon and his second was at 3pm, then wrestled 4 more times in the next 2 hours. I do not fault the tourney and think it was ran very well , just a lot of wretlers. My frustration was with the awards. His weight class was complete at 5:25 (all placers wrestlered at the same time) and we did not leave till after 8pm waiting on the awards. These are State awards so of course we waited, but 90 min. to get them is horrible! I really can't see an excuse for taking this long. Those with long drives could have used that time after a long day. Hard to make a suggestion as to fix this problem as I do not know how the awards were done. We did offer to help to make the process go faster but they did not want it.
  8. I have seen some threads about Wrestle backs and to be honest don't know how they would work. I am curious if posters think the current format get the best results. I for one think that wrestle backs would change some of the top 8, but probably won't affect the finals match as the cream would still come to the top. My son finished 2nd in his sectional (lost to Garrett Goldman, 189lb state champion) Finished 2nd at Regional?s to Garrett (see above) Finished 5th at the Evansville SS (lost to Stevenson, 189lb State runner up and SS champ) Evansville at 189 had Goldman, Stevenson, Boots (finished 4th) and Sandwith (lost Friday night) So wrestle backs in his case really would not have changed anything (I assume) His record on the season was 34-9 with 6 of the 9 losses coming to top 4 in the state. He had wins over 4 of the state 189 pound qualifiers. Question is even with wrestle backs his situation would not have changed. But an argument can be made that we do not put the best 16 wrestlers at state. Would wrestle backs have much of an outcome on getting the top 16 wresters to state? With wrestle backs, do you feel it would have much effect on the top 4 in each class? FYI, I am very proud and have no complaints about my son's senior year. It just made me think about how we could improve the state tourney. Again in his case it would not have mattered. But I am sure in some cases we have very good wrestlers that did not make it that should of! Example Weekly beat Ben Farmer in the go-to round. Ben would have really benefitted from wrestle backs.
  9. I have been to the NCAA DIV II Wrestling website, but can't find a link to updates or feeds. Anyone have any information? Will someone be sending data here to Indianamat?
  10. John Gilispe, Bloomington South mid-70"s. I believe he was 17-19 when the post season began.
  11. Netural observer.... Aaron Stevenson is no prayer.....Many have him as the favorite!
  12. 103- Boomsma- $4 112-Dominique Price- $3 119- Kody George- $2 125- Alex Gresimmer- $2 130- Braden Moreau- $2 135- Stephen Riker- $2 140-- Spencer Boyd- $2 145- Cameron Mattson- $2 152- Connor Mullins- $2 160- John Simms- $2 171- Drake Stein- $5 189- Aaron Stevenson- $4 215- David Knight- $2 285- Kaden Suter- $4 Total $38 Made adjustment for error
  13. We need an official interpertation.....I am sure it will come!
  14. The match does not have to be stopped to award a point for stalling. The point is awarded and action continues. Once action is stopped for any reason the official should notify both wrestlers of the call requardless of weather they heard it during action or not.
  15. SO my son lost to Aaron Stevenson in the go-to round. Aaron won SS at 189 so my son is an alternate? They have him listed as finishing 5th, I guess that is how that works. Duh... Thanks
  16. How is an alternate chosen for the state tourneyment since they do not wrestle beyond 4 places? Has an alternate ever been used at the State Tourneyment? recient history that is. Thanks
  17. In Ohio (or other states) where they have class wrestling, do schools compete across classes during the season, then in class for post season? My thinking is; if they compete in class all year they are more likely to see competition at their level making it more hard to be undefeted. In Indiana it is possible for a school to "pad" the schedule against lesser schools. I know of a few that do this. But if they wrestle class all year it is much more difficult to "pad". Just a thought.
  18. I did not watch the match again yet, I will tonight but.....how does a wrestler score 3 escapes when his opponent does not have a takedown. In the Sectional meeting the score was 3-3 in regulation and after the 1st OT. Could not have been 3 escapes. From my memory, (which is suspect), Spencer had a takedown and escape, PJ had a Reversal and escape. PJ held Spencer in the second OT and Escaped in the second :30 period. Like I said PJ is ther real deal and I think could go all the way to the finals....and maybe even take the gold!
  19. It was 4-3 in 2OT at sectionals (3-3 after regulation, 1OT) and 7-3 in regionals. PJ had the only stall call of the match at sectionals so I don't agree with the "blocked off the entire match" quote. BTW Spencer had a takedown in each match. SO to say PJ had not been scored on is not accurate. That said PJ is the real deal and I see him in the final!
  20. Why would you come on a public board and call a HS wrestelr a "Joke". I do not know any of the wrestlers involved but, Dunkel wrestled the draw given him and advanced, and you feel it necessary to put him down. Your the JOKE!
  21. The brackets took away one of the great possible finals at 189 (Stevenson vs Sliga), anyway here is what I see for top 8 at 189: 1/2 Berry vs Stevenson- Stevenson take the championship 3/4 Boots vs Sliga - Sliga takes 3rd (and wins 2 state championships next two years) 5/6 Goldman vs Dillenbeck- Goldman takes 5th 7/8 Neff vs Johnson- Johnson takes 7th Would have loved to see the brackets allow for a Gladiator final.....but some real studs at 189!
  22. Southern part of the state Boomsma, Boomsma, Boomsma,,,,, Nothern Part fo the state Boston, Boston, Boston,,,,,, If it happenes it should be a great match. Is there anyone that has seen both wresetle, that could give a preview on each wrestlers strengths and weaknesses (not many of these for either)? What do you see as an outcome? I have seend Boomsma wrestle 44 times this year, but could not pick Boston out of a line-up. Thanks
  23. Wow!!!! Congradulations. Thank-you for the history. I am telling you he has his mind set that he will not be beat! He is a Senior and is not ready to hang up the shoes. Again thanks!
  24. "Head-throw" the great equalizer!
