  1. If you find your in Granger,IN near South Bend please join us as Sarah returns home with her Bronze medal. We have been overwhelmed with the support and love we received while on this Olympic journey and just want to thank all of you. It’s great to be a Hoosier!
  2. Not saying the call was wrong or right what I am saying is that this is part of the sport, like it or not. I haven't witnessed too many coaches who don't "work" the refs on behalf of their wrestler. At the end of the day Harper didn't make the call.
  3. Our heart broke for Trey and Tanner when we saw the brackets . But Harper is the Head wrestling coach for Penn his job , his resposability is to the Kingsmen wrestler on the mat no matter who he is wrestling against. As fate would have it the same call went against Penn in a very tight first round match at 132.... I understand being disappointed but you can not fault a coach for doing his job.
  4. Tim-what a beautiful tribute to your friend and what a great lesson the rest of us that love this sport can take away from Richard Jay...thanks for sharing!
  5. I don't think chaos would occur if the dead week would occur a week later for those teams that would like to participate in this event. Most states don't have this particular rule but I do know some states observe a moratorium that teams declare their dead week date. For there to be chaos you have to convince me that there is a group that is actually monitoring rules such as this and fact of the matter is this is a honor rule so a week later will not create chaos. A opportunity to be flexible with this rule and let these athletes take advantage of the exposure that this tournament provides should be in the best interest of all IHSAA and the student athletes . IMO
  6. Any teams interested in petitioning the IHSSA as a group for a Wavier ?
  7. I believe Osborne was 182 Champ.

  9. Two guys to consider or watch (and yes I'm a homer):Tommy Varner 132-138 and S Teague 138-145 both from Penn, both seniors. BTW, Varner was ranked last year before he lost his spot.
  10. Few facts to consider on this topic: 1)Slates took 3rd at ISWA Folkstyle losing very tight match (106), your guy got 7th at 113 but the top 2 guys wrestled 106 during high school season. 2) Slates beat Crary (3rd ranked 113) at ISWA freestyle state this year. 3) They were both AA at Disney in the same division. Not saying Slates wins but it is no joke to think he would be favored!
