  1. Should be done in March. If things move well, middle schoolers can be using it in time for conference. Still a little unsure of the utility, they basically made another six gym that we get to use half of during the season. Still not great, but we’ve graduated from closets, hallways, and cafeterias at least.
  2. Wrestle state has Purdue only winning 125 and 157. No shot Purdue only wins two matches, just not sure who else it's going to be. Lot of tossups in this dual that could go either way.
  3. Yeah, I had that flipped. Looks like he wrestled 132 at conference, so it'd be surprising to see him drop for sectional. Looks like we may get Thrine vs Hockaday!
  4. Joe Lee pinning Brandon James has got to be up there in my time going to state. And then Tommy Cash pinning Joe Lee in the finals.

  6. Kept thinking about it, and have a list of some of my favorites - New Castle retro finalist, Thrine and Whitehead wore last year in placing matches, AJ Black in finals a few years back - Yorktown white pin stripe, Rhett Hiestand in the finals - Chesterton Trojan singlets that the Davison's wore in the finals - Garrett two tone blue maroon singlets a few years ago when Clayton Fielden was there - Perry Meridian pin stripes, Cody LeCount finalist singlet - Penn shiny gold singlets, Drew Hildebrandt finalist singlet - Warren Central black, gold, and white singlets from the year they won state. Same design with three good color schemes - And a personal favorite for my Starfires, the South Adams state singlets 2012-13 black with Sparky on the side
  7. The New Castle retro finalist singlet is my favorite. The black one with the green and silver stripe.
  8. Neither IU or Purdue will ever challenge for a team title under the current structure. The haves and have nots gap is as wide as it's ever been and is not closing any time soon. Penn State has guys sitting on the bench for multiple years that would be immediate AA contenders at an Indiana school. It's insane how a few schools in the country stockpile so much talent. IU or Purdue will never get close to that.
  9. Wtf are you still going on about this is a team issue not an individual issue. You have agreed with most arguments that there are large discrepancies between large and small school teams that don't affect the small school individual, well the hell it doesn't. Every single issue you have countered with "it's a team issue, not an individual issue". That is so bogus, and disingenuous to the discussion at hand. I have read your arguments, but still do not understand your point. Because whatever you are trying to get at does not affect the discussion we are having.
  10. At this point, small schools aren't even playing the same sport as the big schools. South Adams has to balance putting the work in for wrestling while having nearly every single member of our roster playing three sports, all while wrestling in the cafeteria. Next year we might not have a heavy weight because there's only 3-4 kids in the entire school that I could identify as even being the right weight, not even getting to those kids already playing basketball, or not wanting to wrestle. Brownsburg has a million dollar facility filled with year round wrestlers and all the resources they need, in an area surrounded by other talented big school wrestling programs and big city clubs and about 1000 kids to recruit in the school. But sure, we can just outwork them. I would love to see South Adams have a state champ at some point in my life, but that is going to be highly unlikely with the current state of wrestling in Indiana. Last year, the state finals looked like a Crown Point-Brownsburg-Center Grove dual meet, and that isn't changing any time soon. Last year the 1A wrestler of the year topped out at 5th place, couldn't even get one 1A wrestler in the semis.
  11. I haven’t seen him wrestle 132, but I wouldn’t be surprised. He looked a little small for 132 earlier this year, and you avoid Hockaday.
  12. That’s incredibly weak if Warren Central conceded defeat because they already lost to Avon by 4. Last time the 215 match was decided in UTB, flip a one point match and WC wins. Anyone excusing or arguing for WC’s actions are losers. The whole purpose of wrestling is to show up to events, toe the line, and compete. Forfeiting five weight classes when you have 50 guys on your roster and leaving competition early is the antithesis of what we are as a sport. Only way this is excusable is if there is some tragic outside reason, but no one yet has given a reason like that. If Warren Central doesn’t want to compete, then kick them out. At least a year or two ban from team state.
  13. I just want to know what happened with Warren Central. That’s wild they just left plus the forfeits with no explanation.
  14. And now Mat 3 is frozen, don't know why this is following South Adams
  15. Anyone know who to get in touch with to get Mat 2 back on? Table had computer issues and had to restart but I don't think they started up the camera.

  18. Are the finals being streamed? Didn’t see anything on ihsaatv
  19. I’m guessing it’s cause he has three losses and no previous state series experience.

  22. Another one to add is Justin Atkinson. He didn't go to state in high school but was a two time All American at Indiana Tech.
  23. Dylan Lydy was a state champ for Ben Davis and a really good wrestler all four years, but he got so much better at Purdue. Two time blood rounder and had a great shot to place when NCAAs were cancelled in 2020. And for my Alma mater, Chase Wilson from Maconaquah ended up having a great career wrestling for Manchester, I believe finishing just shy of being an AA.
