  1. I predict.... IHSWCA keeps a record book People will believe the IHSWCA is a regular tourney unless they win it Everyone will know the IHSWCA State Champ is the OFFICIAL Team State Title and the IHSAA is the Coaches trophy The class debate will go on forever with no headway. "Recruiting" or "Move-ins" will continue to decay our sport and allow for 10-15 powerhouse schools and everyone else will just have to work harder Tskin and TripleB will run in a 1/2 marathon Mater Dei will become a public school The google hangouts will captivate people so much it will be 3rd highest watch show behind the super bowl and walking dead The Cubs will win the World Series.
  2. Why stop at offseason events...could you imagine your coworkers faces when you come to work with someone following you around with a banner??? Epic
  3. Are they showing D2 and D3 or just D1??
  4. No IHSAA is going to start classing by move-ins after 5th grade....Class A = 0 move ins, Class AA= 1-2 move ins, Class AAA 3+ move ins. I got this from a reliable source.
  5. At this point we have not heard anything but compliments
  6. This is the photo and information for the banner we had during the walk of champions. Some people have expressed interest as to where we got it, so I am posting contact information and a picture. Any other questions feel free to ask.
  7. The top teams dont always make it...no system, no sport has the best teams always make it. The goal is to try to get the best teams, but if you dont qualify when its time to qualify you dont get in. But I am 100% sure any ideas to improve the system would be listened to. What is your idea to improve the current system to make sure it take into account JV kids and 8th graders and under performing teams?
  8. Didnt Bellmont not wrestle very well last year in the state tourney?? so if we had the old system and they didnt win Sectional or Regional last year, they should be in the tourney anyway just because they are good and they have tradition? No....they didnt wrestle well enough sorry. You know how many times kids have to watch other kids move on because they werent as good a certain day or certain match. Bellmont might be the number one team in the nation this season, but at the end of last season, when it was time to qualify they didnt do enough. I dont understand the debate...the best teams, athletes, etc dont always move on, dont always win the race, dont always win the medal or save the day...You perform when its time to qualify or you dont....I cant wait until a team we beat gets into the state tourney so I can complain how unfair it is that we didnt perform our best but really we are better. Now, this year...they got the job done and kicked butt so they are in!!
  9. Anyone have any of these numbers or do we just skip over a good point. What percentage of schools were represented...not participants but schools?? I wonder, have the teams that have competed in team state the last few seasons in the 1A and 2A seen a incline, decline or stayed the same in the number of kids they are coaching? That might be a good indicator if class wrestling is starting to work or not. Anyone who had a team participate got any input as to if their numbers spiked??
  10. This may be a case of that crazy "move in" situation where people happen to move into the same school at the same time. What percentage of 3A and 2A schools were represented...not the number of wrestlers but how many teams out of that 105 were represented at each level.
  11. I wonder, have the teams that have competed in team state the last few seasons in the 1A and 2A seen a incline, decline or stayed the same in the number of kids they are coaching? That might be a good indicator if class wrestling is starting to work or not.
  12. Its a conspiracy.....they cant keep me down #ballbarkbruiser
  13. And something we found out that at semi and state their is only one alternate excepted. Regardless, if the 2nd alternate or 3rd alternate is ready and can make weight. The winter bulletin and the IHSAA think it is a better idea for a FF to be in place than a kid getting a chance to wrestle at state. Just an awful rule and not very well thought out...I know not many coaches I talked to did not know about the guidelines in the bulletin. But it does state that Sectionals to Regionals is the only place a 2nd alternate comes into play. Regional to semi state and semi state to state is only one kid has a chance to be alternate...after that it goes to FF. So unless you are 1st alternate you are done.
  14. lmao thank you...I was rushing around stressing today and I needed a smile.
  15. According to some people you didnt work hard enough...way to go. So I would suggest if you want to play with the big boys you better put in more time cuz thats all it takes (sarcasm entered here)
  16. Yeah the problem is small schools dont work hard enough...cuz hard work is the only key factor in catching those top teams. I mean population, move ins, school size, distance from school, etc etc has nothing to do with success...its all about good old hard work...haha really?!?
  17. Why not just have 20 super teams in the state and if your school isnt one of them then drop the program...life isnt fair and that will be a good lesson for those kids...."sorry guys no wrestling but this will teach you life isnt fair"
  18. I am still for classing by "move ins" if after 5th grade you have 0 - 1 move ins your class A and if you get 2+ move ins your in class AA haha sorry for trolling
  19. When a regular hug with anyone, turns into a bear hug and pummeling
  20. I long for the days when kids wrestled for a program from little league, to freestyle, to middle school, to high school.....Where the name beside a 60 lbs wrestlers stayed the same throughout their career. I am not hating, the landscape of sport has changed and it is what it is....if you are not getting move ins there is little chance you will be able to stay at the top year in and year out. I am generalizing of course, but the point is we all know whats going on, almost every top team has had allegations and fingers pointing. Its sad that I was so naive 10 years ago that I didnt believe this kind of thing happened and was appalled, now I am so numb to hearing about this school or that school because it is common place. I am sure a lot of this is jealousy, coming from programs that has never had a move in. I no longer begrudge these school that go after kids to make their programs better or parents who want their kids to wrestle in the top programs, I sure wouldnt tell a kid no they cant come to my school...lol I would love to see a separation of schools based on move-ins, if we define move-ins as someone who wrestled for a different club after 5th grade or different middle school than the one directly linked to the high school. Class A = 0-1 move ins Class AA= 2 move ins Class AAA= 2+ move ins.
