  1. Thanks to the Avon group for a great RTC. Great kids and coaching from Avon and surrounding schools.
  2. I agree with this whole post! Congratulations to Sean. My son wrestled him in the quarterfinals and told me that he is a very technical wrestler. Actually, Sean stuck him in a cradle...this was the only near fall points ever scored on him in his high school wrestling career. Ryan fell short of his goal just like the other 15 wrestlers who did not win it. Good Luck at Michigan State.
  3. I don't see Tri-West Hendricks on the list. That would make 122. They have never had a place winner at state so we are hoping to change that this year. Thanks.
  4. Sorry to hear this about Ethan. Good luck to him in his future endeavors. On another note, I heard that Cody Blackburn, Cascades 160 pounder, may not wrestle this weekend. Anybody have any info. on this?
  5. I feel for the family as well as Jacob. My son was removed from the tournament series the Monday before semi-state over a deer hunting incident that happened in November. My position on this was that it was as far away from a school incident as you could get. Their position was that he was charged with a misdemeanor, therefore he would miss 20% of the scheduled events. I asked how they dealt with speeding tickets (which are misdemeanors) and they did not have an answer. We appealed to everyone like the Tonte's but nothing changed. Appealing to school officials is a waste of time. Too much pride and the inability to admit when they are wrong or overstepping their boundaries.
  6. Sorry man! Just got back from another excursion without access to the PC. I hear you DLane....guess I misrepresented your comment to be negative but I should have known better. Actually, the technical fall challenge was brought on by one of the coaches from another team. None the less, they wrestle a "soft schedule" and that is a terrible lead in to such a high caliber tournament. On another note, his tank will be full this weekend! High Octane hopefully, I think he will need it for the match with Reese. You should be square on the cool points.
  7. Thanks poptart125! I agree with PURDUEdad's comment. Sorry DLane...you had to eat a "boo" for yours!
  8. Man, go out of town on a business trip (without access to the board), come back and there are three pages on this regional. All good stuff except the ones who question Kolb's gas tank. I believe he racked up about 46 offensive points on the day and majored his guy in the finals...he is entitled to that. I'm sure his plan was to make them all last. Most of the points were scored on the mat, turning his opponents for near fall. I would not drive by that house dressed up like a deer at anytime...they are from West Virginia! Good luck to all wrestlers next weekend.
  9. Come on old82. We know you have them...let'em go.
  10. Thanks Man! I changed my mind but not the school!
  11. Here are my predictions. Once the brackets are up I will add 2nd-4th. 103- Arnold BB 112 - Mocherman TW 119 - Molloy DV 125 - Judy DV 130- Heald CA 135 - Rassbach AV 140- Bealmer TW 145 - Haak DV 152 - Parrish PL 160 - Kolb TW 171 - Brandt AV 189 - Hill CA 215 - Holifeld DV 285 - Ginter BB I don't know where the 215 lber for Danville is from, but this young man moves like a 140 lber. Wish we could have seen him wrestle at county to see where stacks up against Pirtle. Team: Top 4 all from Hendricks County 1- Avon - wins this in the consolations 2- Danville 3- Brownsburg 4- Plainfield
  12. Fair statement about McMurray because he is a 2x champ. Willis must be the second best guy that you have seen wrestle at that weight. The 160 lb. weight class in the Evansville semi-state (as I am sure they all are) is loaded with talent. One in particular placed second in the Folkstyle Nationals last Spring losing only to the #1 160 lber. in the nation. This was going on at the same time McMurray was putting on a clinic at the Junior Nationals. The end result was the same for both wrestlers....2nd place losing to nationally ranked opponents and beating several great wrestlers along the way. It would be great to see Kolb and McMurray wrestle in the finals but the road there will be a long one for all in this weight class.
  13. Pike at Tri-West tonight....should be a good match at 160. Oliver 19-1 against Kolb 23-0. Who is at 145 for Pike? Just curious if Bealmer will get tested tonight.
  14. Fuller and Malloy to get to Guernsey Bealmear and Haak
