  1. According to the IHSAA web site a five class system is in place for football, four class system for baseball, basketball, softball, and volleyball, and a two class system for soccer. With that being said I don't see any reason why a three class system wouldn't work for wrestling.
  2. It looked like to me top wrestler reached over with his right arm and most likely locked hands without an arm, illegal headlock
  3. Congrats to the Penn Kingsmen on your sectional title. You all have an amazing coach with an unbelievable drive to be the best. Your team and Alumni I'm sure are quite happy to have you. Keep up the good work and best of luck at regionals, your friends at Delphi.
  4. Lafayette Jeff should be interesting. Top three teams based on seeds are within 8 points. Delphi has 1-1's,5-2's,3-3's,3-5's equalling 12 seeded wrestlers. Jeff has 4-1's,1-2's,3-3's,1-4's,2-6's equalling 11 seeded wrestlers. McCutcheon has 5-1's,1-2's,1-4's,2-5's,3-6's equalling 12 seeded wrestlers. Based on seeds I believe Delphi has a slight edge and I mean slight. Wrestle backs will definetly determine the team champion.
  5. Lynde beat Max Youngs of Zionsville 7-3 at the Lafayette Jeff duals on Nov. 27
  6. It's official I'm an addict, this down time nearly put me in the nut house!!!!!!!
  7. I thought that the refs around the state were wanting to join forces with the coaches association? Maybe I'm wrong but I know I heard that somewhere, maybe at the fall clinic or rules interpratation meeting that followed that evening.
  8. He lost to Lynde 7-3 Lynde was winning 7-0 late in the match cut him and took an ill advised shot trying for a major. besides the late scramble Lynde was dominate.
  9. Great story and the last picture says it all. Just another reason why the wrestling community is the best!
  10. Delphi"s schedule starts at Chesterton were we wrestle Chesterton, McCutcheon, Elkhart Memorial, Munster, add Shenandoah. The next week we went to Lafayette Jeff and wrestled Roncolli, Griffith, Zionsville, Warren Central, and Jeff. Next a few indivdual duals with Carrol and Frankfort. We go to Logansport and take on Peru, LOgansport, Culver Military, Benton Central, and Rochester. Another dual with West Lafayette and off to the Twin Lakes 16 team invitational (finished third without Lynde and BRown two varsity guys). Then its off to the meat grinder of the North Mont. Holiday duals were we went 3-4 as ateam beating Warren Central, New Palestine, and North Montgomery, losing to Carmel, Perry Meridian,Bloomington South, and Portage. Next it's off to North Newton for the Nick Spitler invite. We wrestled Frontier, North Newton, South Newton, and Boone Grove. We lost three matches in four duals, I wonder why we are so dominate? Next tourney for the Oracle matmen is conference which we won for the fifth straight year. Yes we do have kids that go to Boiler Elite and so does Twin Lakes and few of the other schools in our conference. Funny to hear that Delphi has naturally good wrestlers and nobody else does. That is FUNNY!!!!!!!!!! Delphi has been getting better and better and we are confident that our schedule helps that cause. Our strength of schedule definately prepares us for conference and sectionals and on beyond. Team state finals two years ago and a number of state qualifiers. the last 5-6 years
  11. Not sure but heard that Shulties broke an arm ?
  12. Delphi and Twin Lakes are only 15-20 miles apart and we wrestle schools from the region and Indy during the year!!!!!!!! To name a few: Chesterton, Elhart Memorial, Munster, Portage, Carmel, Zionsville,Perry Meridian, Warren Central, New Palestine. Yes we get beat by most of thes teams but we compete. If you want to be the best you hav e to wrestle the best and we do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. 112 finals might have been the best match of the tourney. Twin Lakes Has one tough kid there! freshman I believe. Lynde Winkle match was 10-1 with Lynde cutting him early in the first. Winkle did good fighting off his back not allowing Lynde to secure the fall. Lynde put him to his back 2 or 3 times throughout the match.
  14. Delphi Has an extremely strong schedule and that is why we are currently dominating the Hoosier Conference. Conference is a step down for the most part. According to the Genius rating Our strength of schudule is 21 or 22 and that definately prepares our boys for conference and secti0nals an beyond. Maybe Lynde will be under the Lights this year, only time will tell.
  15. Congratulations Delphi On winning conference for the 5 (fifth) year in a row. Hooyah Oracles! Lynde over Winkle 10-1
  16. Doesnt make much sense to schedule that dual on the friday night of the state finals. I'm guessing sell out lol! Maybe enough people will complain and they will reschedule, doubtful but maybe. Coach Hinkle and coach Goldman can"t like this. That's definately a dual I would enjoy watching live, not to mention my son and the kids on the wrestling team. Big Ten Network I guess, that's if you know when it will air!
  17. Teams: Benton Central,Delphi,Rennselear,Sheridan,Tipton,Twin Lakes, and West Lafayette 103:Marvel (Del), Wortman (BC), James (Tip) 112:Weise (BC), Denton (TL), White (WL), Alderman (Del) 119:Atkinson (BC), Douglas (TL), Hickman (Renn), Brown (Del) 125:McTaggert (BC), Tribett (TL), Jones (Del), Boucher (SH) 130:Madison (BC), Scott (WL), Dick (Tip), Price (Del) 135:Martin (Renn), Alderman (Del), VanMeter (WL), Long (Tip) 140:Hardesty (TL), Martinez (BC), Cox (Tip), Hume (SH) 145;Miller (Del), Ponto (BC), Thomas (TL), Davila (Tip) 152:Palmieri (WL), Northcutt (Renn), Capes (SH), Connor (Del) 160:Rumell (Del), Green (Renn), Robinson (BC),Doty (WL) 171:Lynde (Del), Winkle (TL), Hein (Tip), Potts (Renn) 189:Patton (WL), Stichter (BC), Bradshaw (Del), Winkle (TL) 215:Berumen (Del), Ricks (BC), Warner (Tip), Callahan (SH) 285:Anderson (Del), Miller (SH), Duvall (WL), Wortman (BC) Looks like a two dog race this year between Delphi and Benton Central Big match-up of the tourney is at 171 Lynde and Winkle, both wrestlers undefeated
  18. www.nhsca.com is the web site than go to national events that should get you the information you need.
  19. Lynde has another noteable win against Gutierrez of McCutcheon by fall.
  20. Delphi will win team title. Individual champions for Delphi should be 130,135,160, 171, 215, hwt, and possibly103 and 145. Benton Central will most likely finish second as a team and with individual champions. CANT WAIT FOR SATURDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lynde will dominate Winkle, dominate!!!!!!!!!!
  21. I always liked the "crowd wave" like McMurry in the state finals last year.
  22. Not sure of all results, but Delphi had two champions Alderman 135 and Lynde 171. Alderman was 6-1 with loss to Bloomington South I think. Match tied with 2.6 left and Alderman gets called for locked hands, bad call in my opinion but oh well. Lynde went 7-0 with 5 pins a major and a 8- 3 decision over Frascella. Lynde had 4 takedowns giving up three escapes. Lynde was named Outstanding wrestler. Anderson went 5-0 with wins at heavy and 215.
  23. Just received our annual ISWA amatuer wrestling news book in the mail. Love the book but find it hard to believe that the ISWA doesnt know how to spell the word "wrestling". Not only was it messed up this year but it was also messed up last year. WOW! Those of you who are confused just look at the cover and you will understand ( this years and last). Then as I Read through it they mention Drake Stein winning the 160# ihsaa state title, again WOW! Like I said earlier love the book and I know that there will be mistakes that make it to the printing press but those two I mentioned, unexceptable. WRESTING FOR NOW AND THE FUTURE!!!!!!!!! Spell check?
