I don't see Alex getting beat. He has turned it up a notch. I feel he still has another level. He coasts through tough competition. He coasted too much with kieffer and found out what happens if you are not focused. He will not make that mistake again. That loss has made him tremendously better. Alex is hard to wrestle. His opponents hit perfect technique and end up getting scored on. That has to be frustrating!!! His scramble abilities remind me somewhat of Ben Askren. He seems to be mentally one or two steps ahead of his opponent.

The Jasper kid was a 4th place finisher at the sectional. Did not place at Regionals. He was an alternate and beat a #1seed.

I believe class in better for the kids.

I don't think we need full wrestle backs at Regionals. It makes for a more intense first round. Also these boys already wrestle 50 times a year that is alot of wear and tear. As of now I like the 4th placers going to semi state. I may change my mind after the next two weeks.

I was not far off. Castle did wrestle straight up. Lannert did win brown did beat apple (apple giving up a little size) Castle 125 did look decent he gave up four points the last seconds trying a last second move. Henderson looked good for the first period. Castle kid did a good job fighting back. It was a great effort on both teams part. Southern Indiana wrestling will do well the next couple of weeks. I hope some 4th place finishers (from Castle's regional) will take out some regional champs at semi-state. Should be interesting.

If MD decides to shift 103 lannert will win 112 brown will beat apple (apple could win this) 125 Castle will beat md reserve. 130 Seitz will beat Henderson (Henderson does not impress me he stalls alot and plays the edge of the mat.) I think Castle will wrestle straight up.

There will be 4th place finishers that will make it to state. So I think it is good especially if you are from a tough regional. If you are from a weak regional I would be nervous.

Yes I am aware of that. Not to many college coaches look at cadet and junior state champs unless they do well nationally.

I have always liked the idea of team class (2 or 3 classes) to help promote the sport. For example if you have 3 classes 3 times the amount of sectional, regional, semi-state and state champions. This will help promote wrestling inside the school. More kids will want to compete to be a part of something great. I love having 1 individual state champ however; I believe it would be better for our state and especially our students to have 2 or 3 classes. I think we would miss having 1 state champ but, I believe giving these student athletes more opportunities is what we should shoot for.
