  1. The CPMS Warriors advanced to 13-0 on the year after defeating Greenwood MS 66 to 39.
  2. A great dual meet for both schools. The Warriors pulled ahead at first and took a decent lead. Franklin fought back and got the meet within just a few points and looked to have some momemtum, but the Warriors held off with a 51-48 victory. The Warriors are now 12-0 on the year.
  3. It is tough to see this happen right off the bat like others have said, it could be worse. Most of the brackets look like the have seperated out fairly well but with a tournament this size with a bunch of wrestlers without previous information it gets tricky(especially if you can manipulate info on trackwrestling). Good thing for full wrestle backs so Alec or Breyden have a shot at still getting 2nd. Should be a good day of wrestling, can't wait.
  4. Clark Pleasant MS Warriors are up to 12-0 on the year with another big victory over Decatur Middle School 96 to 7. The Warriors next meet will be facing off against Franklin. If you'd like to watch come on down to Clark Pleasant Middle School. It should be a good one. Forgot to mention this meet will be on Thursday, Feb 14th. JV will start at 5 and varsity will follow with a face off then some wrestling.
  5. I was not in attendance last night but was told the score was CPMS 90 to Indian Creek MS 24. If that is incorrect please update with appropriate score. The Warriors advance to 11-0 on the year.
  6. Hope the best for Breyden, if that's true. He's always been a fun kid to watch.
  7. Clark Pleasant advanced their record to 10-0 on the year with 3 more victories on Saturday as they hosted the Warrior Invitational. 1st Round CPMS 85 vs Martinsville West 24 2nd Round CPMS 109 vs Mount Vernon 15 3rd Round CPMS 90 vs Center Grove North 26
  8. CPMS adds another W to the win column after a victory over Doe Creek last night. Last year Doe Creek edged the Warriors out in a close dual meet but Doe Creek unfortunately forfeited several weight classes this year. The Warriors are currently 7-0 on the year.
  9. Clark Pleasant with another dual meet victory with a win over Martinsville East, 114 to 15. The Warriors are 6-0 on the season so far with a dual meet against Doe Creek on Thursday.
  10. Clark Pleasant MS(Whiteland) Results for Southport Triple Duals. 3 victories on the day for the Warriors. 1st Round vs Southport CPMS 87 - Southport 19 2nd Round vs Pendleton - A close back and forth dual with the crowd getting loud during every move and every match. Pendleton has a solid well conditioned and coached team. Gave the Warriors a very good match. CPMS 67 - Pendleton 50 3rd Round vs Beech Grove CPMS 90 - BG 34
  11. Clark Pleasant MS with another solid victory last night. Paul Hadley did give up two forfeits but solid wrestling for both schools. Whiteland took an early lead and kept on rolling away with it. Warriors are 2-0 on the year so far.
  12. Too much room, you'll let him get inside ya. You gotta keep it tight.
  13. Clark Pleasant had a full lineup of wrestlers, Center Grove gave up 5 weight classes. Clark Pleasant started off strong in the lower weights and then Center Grove came back with some pretty impressive wrestling in the 90 lb classes up to the lower 100 lbers. Final score CPMS 79 Center Grove Central 32. Good luck the rest of the year to both schools as they will see each other in a couple more weeks at the Johnson County tournament.
  14. That's the way I try to run our beginner program. I tend to keep it more fun, with teaching the fundamentals. We will typically play a game once a week to help keep the excitement in the room instead of just drills and live wrestling. We tend to have a very high turnover ratio, with only a few from the previous year returning which makes it hard, but that's part of it. If they enjoy it even for one year, maybe they'll think about getting back out on the mat once middle school starts up.
  15. Won't matter, he'll run into a BEAST in the semifinals. Plus no one else in the state works as hard as he does.
  16. From my perspective, since I tend to have a high turnover every year with a bunch of beginners, that it's just to go as hard as you can. Even if you don't know a lot if you do the moves right and go hard, you will be successful. I don't care if they win or lose at a young age, but I want to see them develop that mental attitude that they can wrestle with the best and beat anyone. If they go hard, they'll learn plenty of moves over the next several years, but for me its first developing that mental toughness. Not everyone develops that mental toughness to push them to the top.
  17. Just a heads up as the Whiteland Warrior Folkstyle Open is the first open tournament of the new 2013 year. Clubs emailing their information, please send to whiteland.wrestling12@gmail.com A confirmation email will be sent back, please have this number for Saturday morning registration/check-in. Emails shall be sent by 8pm on Thursday. Last year we got started within a half hour of the 9am posted start time. We were done around 1:30pm. We had around 230 wrestlers on the day so it's a nice tournament to attend to get the year started. Our club will have several wrestlers in attendance with quite a bit of them beginners and some experienced wrestlers, so bring the whole caravan with you. Here's a link to the ISWA magazine flyer for our tournament. You'll have to copy this link, since the URL link isn't working with the brackets in there. http://iswa.com/Tournaments/Whiteland%20Folkstyle[1].pdf I've got a clear Excel Spreadsheet setup for Wrestler information for emailing the weigh-in forms over. Feel free to email me with any questions or to get the email spreadsheet. shawn.slaymon@gmail.com or whiteland.wrestling12@gmail.com
  18. Numbers have to been down because of the extended Folkstyle season for a bunch of young kids. Most sports don't draw out for 7 months like wrestling can. Most last 3-4 months at most. These kids have short attention spans and we are extending the season longer and longer. Once the weather turns nice, those attentions spans head straight outdoors. They also get so used to Folkstyle many are very leary of going into Freestyle. Maybe they should start a beach wrestling state tournament. Today's weather would be great for one.
  19. Even though it acts like a full time job, it is all volunteers here at Whiteland Wrestling Club.
  20. Sounds like a good idea for the room. Any idea on how much it cost? Maybe I can convince the school to pay for something like this so they'd want to know costs.
  21. Can anyone recommend a good disinfectant? School supplied stuff doesn't seem to get the job done and our club would like to get some better stuff. Thanks.
  22. Franklin pulled out as the victors of the Mid-State Conference on Saturday edging out Clark Pleasant(Whiteland) by a meer 11 points. It was close back and forth race all day. Congratulations to the Warriors for giving Franklin a run for the money. The Warriors finished the season as the Johnson County Champions, Mid-State Runner-Ups and with a dual meet record of 14-3 on the year. Mid-State Top 3 Results: (Sorry I didn't write them down so if anyone has the results with scores please post them) 1. Franklin 2. Clark Pleasant 3. Decatur Central
  23. Is the coaches pass free after paying the spectator entry fee, as long as we have our copper card, or does it cost as well? If so how much?
  24. Any idea how many wrestlers where at the CG tournament? We were at Franklin. Little crowded with the tournament being moved but not to bad. Got started a little late but its almost expected with morning weigh ins. They used trackwrestling only for registration. I thought they would have used it to bracket the weight classes as well but I guess not. That might have been the hold up in the morning.
