  1. Love the cake comment. Hysterical.
  2. BlueBolt, give us your pick for this matchup.
  3. Thats funny, I don't care who you are. LMAO.
  4. The first round will be really interesting. Wrestling 5 meets, team depth will be really crucial come the later rounds.
  5. No one has forgotten about Jeff. As I remember from last year they gave everybody all they wanted and then some. I seem to recall they had a lot of physical talent, but were a little lacking in technique. This is not meant as an insult, just stating what I thought.
  6. After viewing both lineups I want to revise my picks. 103 I'll pick MD 112 Goes to Castle. 119 I'm thinking MD here. 125 Henderson vs. Brown, great matchup, too close to call. 130 I'll go with MD here. 135 MD, chance for bonus points here. 140 MD. 145 Should be Castle. 152 I'll take Simms in a close one, as usual between these two. 160 Should be Castle with a 3 point victory, but the way Dalton wrestles, could be 6 either way. 171 Should be MD with a 3 point win, unless Boots gets mad, then a pin. 189 Castle. My original predictions for 215 and 285 hold, he who screws up least wins the match. 7 matches for MD, 4 for Castle, 3 undecided. Bonus points will be critical for the team score.
  7. It used to be a Quad dual. Last year they added Jeff. Everybody wrestled everybody. I heard Forrest Park wasn't going to be there this year. Anybody else heard that?
  8. Thank you for showing up Bluebolt. I was afraid I was going to be talking to myself all week.
  9. I will pick a finishing order of Reitz, MD, Castle. I think Reitz is just too strong top to bottom for the other two to handle.
  10. Not knowing much about either team this early in the season, I will guess at some of the match out comes. 103 Advantage MD. 112 and 119 Castle. 125-140 Advantage MD. 145 Castle. 152 MD. 160 heard Weikel was at 171 so I will give the advantage to MD at 160 and Castle 171. 189 advantage Castle. 215 and 285 will go to whomever screws up the least. That makes MD 7 matches Castle 5 and 2 as push matches. I see this coming down to bonus points, he who has them will win. Both teams better be wary of Bloomington South. They returned a lot of semi-state qualifers and could beat both if they are not prepared. Now I just need someone to argue with me about my picks. Please :.
  11. Was really impressed with Evan Weinzapfel this past week end. Very aggressive. Might have been a weak weight class, I don't know, but he was the best in that class.
  12. If the team tournament were broken down into 2 classes, and four teams from each class went to state, it would still be 15% of the state. There would be the same disparity in the lower class with 6 or 7 teams being the only ones in the state championship. All this would do is change the team names to smaller schools. Teams like Evansville Memorial would dominate the smaller class leaving all the other schools out in the cold.
  13. Thanks for giving me a place to come to tweak your nose, Joe. I love to stir the pot with a big stick.
  14. In no way are they equal to Garrett? So you are saying if they are in a better situation than Garrett(parental and school involvement, etc.) then they are automatically a big school? They are equal to a school of 800-1000 students? By what standard? What mathematical formula did you use to come to that conclusion? If they are equal to a school of 800 students, wouldn't that put them in the small school class? Most of this statement seems to by Y2's supposition, based only on what he BELIEVES, not supported by any facts other than special education and reduced lunches. I will repeat, calling MD a big school is assinine.
  15. Under the old format a team with 2 solid wrestlers could be crowned the team state champion, even if they never won a dual meet. That is just not right. Wrestling is a team sport. If it is not, why do we keep a team score. It is called a wrestling TEAM, not wrestling individuals.
  16. So you are saying that MD's 500 students are equal in physical ability and numbers to schools who have over 3000 students? To say they are not a small school is ludicrous. Even if they are a parochial school, they are still a small school.
  17. Care to revise your picks after the Turkey classic at Mt Vernon?
  18. I was worried about May's grades after last year. Hope he can get them up and come back after christmas.
  19. Very good possibility this could occur. Not too far out on that limb.
  20. I see areal possibility of MD NOT winning the conference meet. With the talent at Castle and Reitz, I can see one of them knocking out enough MD wrestlers for the other to win it.
  21. Did MD drop this tournament, or get dropped?
  22. Thanks for the info. Forrest Park usually has one or two pretty decent kids, but no chance to win a meet. If you want to get better, face better competition. Kudos to Forrest Park for wrestling up.
  23. Will BS be attending the 5-way at Jasper this year? I do not see them listed on the schedule.
