i know for a lot of you younger folks you may not remember the clint eastwood movie 'pale rider' but as far as western goes its one of my all time favorites. in the movie eastwood really didnt have a name but he was a gunfighter and a b.a. posing as a preacher who strolled into this town that was having troubles and basically he "cleans house". i dont know how but i guess a few people saw some correlations between the character he played and me although i am neither a gun fighter or a b.a. or a preacher for that fact but it stuck. for those of you who do remember the flick: "nothing like a good piece of hickory."

my sectional finals predictions: 103: witous (Penn)vs. stoneburner(Mish) toss up 112: gregory(Penn) vs. beck(Mish) beck wins 119: hildebrandt(Penn) vs. Guerra (Mish) toss up 125: stevens(Penn) vs. schrader (Mish) toss up 130: anglemeyer(Penn) vs. harper(Mish) harper wins 135: nixon (Clay) vs. reinoehl(Mish) reinoehl wins 140: hall(SB Riley) vs. Sandefer(Mish) sandefer wins 145: lymburner(SB Riley) vs. white(Mish) lymburner wins 152: Alwine (Clay) vs. forte(Mish) forte wins 160: ullery (SB Riley) vs. morin(Mish) morin wins 171: hudson(SB Riley) vs. friedman(Mish) hudson wins 189: buckingham(SB Riley) vs boyd(Mish) boyd wins 215: mcdaniel(SB Washington) vs. lentz(Mish) lentz wins HWT: johnson(Penn) vs. thomas(Mish) thomas wins Mishawaka wins the sectional i think advancement points are going to be crucial for Riley or Penn to take second some of the toss up matches i have really could go either way 103: stoneburner is a good young wrestler but witous is strong as hell 119: i think this will probably the toughest match up of the sectional 125: stevens is technically sound but schrader has really turned it up since the al smith 160: both these guys are quick and not afraid of wild moves. i gave it to morin due to his speed but it could go either way. 171: both seniors and strong i think friedman might be giving up too much weight here. why i gave it to hudson. zach corpe from elkhart memorial won the outstanding wrestler of the tourney. criteria is based on winning and less time spent on the mat. he did deserve it. he had some great early pins

they split the weight classes between the two gyms on the first day. lighter classes (103-145 i think)in the old gym(east side gym) and heavier weight glasses(152-hwt) in the new gym(west side). depending on who you are going to see or spending the most time, parking on perspective side of the school complex may help. on day two everything moves into the "old" gym. keep in mind on the east side of the school its more residental street parking than on the west side where there are parking lots. there are quite a few locally owned restaurants near by but if you are into the chain types and most hotels plan your routes to and from the school via north main street to Mishawaka ave. or Lincolnway. yes there is a little road work but not too bad. its about the easiest. enjoy our town.

if you are a Mishawaka wrestling fan you might enjoy this one. a highlight slideshow from last years title team. besides the MHS wrestlers you might recognize some of the opponets. chico adams and brian vest from perry, gregory from penn, kyle long from washington, trace hall, malone and others from SB riley, a few from EMD that i cant recall their names. if you wrestled a MHS guy last year you might be in it.
