  1. Start going to Ohio's state championships then instead of indiana's. Some people have to work in this state full of people who are not very intelligent.
  2. Can anyone tell me the final score of this match? I see that Spencer won, but by how much?
  3. Does anyone know the story behind Beck's absence? Some one said disciplinary... can anyone elaborate?
  4. The plot thickens.. both great kids both very deserving. Should make for some good future matches
  5. Eric Galka used to be able to stack people at will, hence his signature move the "Galka Stack."
  6. The Hobart Invite is in fact cancelled. Conference has been post-poned moving it to the date of the Hobart Invite forcing it to be cancelled.
  7. Neither Sampson Cook nor D'marcus Spencer have accomplished what Frankie Porras has, and therefore the rankings should have been left the same. Why does Porras move to fourth? He has one loss on the season whereas Spencer has 2. Sure he lost by fewer points to Cashe, but a loss is a loss. He was also Cashes partner in the room for two years, I wonder if he was exposed to Cashes styles or tendencies. Was he a runner-up, qualifier, sophomore all american and fargo all american? And Cook has one huge win under his belt. Good thing these things don't mean anything. Looking forward to the 130 lb class at state. Harper and Porras next weekend at the Hobart Invite... I'll meet ya!
  8. I'm sure this has come up before but I missed it. Fill me in!
  9. I wouldn't necessarily call Galka's senior year a "slump." A lot of kids dream to be in the state finals, and a runner-up to McMurray is nothing to hang your head about, although Galka handled him at semi-state. Also, my heart breaks for a kid like Brandon Wright who takes second as a freshman, 1st as a sophomore, and then wins at Fargo, only to come back this year and have to wrestle with the likes of Tsirtsis and Quiroga. He has already lost to both of these guys, but still has a chance at redemption.
  10. Can you base the present, the NOW, off the past? How can you say Harper is better than Cashe when Cashe just beat him? A fair statement would be that Harper has more accolades than Cashe, but it is wrong to say better. In order to be better than some one, you have to be able to beat them, and Cashe beat Harper. There was no freak moves or anything of that sort that caused the match, it was a legitimate win. Harper was better the first 4 times they wrestled, Cashe is better now.
  11. I believe we have met before XCard.
  12. Thanks for supporting my thesis Pat. While I am not "close" to Harp, I have met the kid on multiple occassions and would also agree that he is not the type of kid to make excuses. This young fella wants redemption already, I can bet ya that much.
  13. wahoo to that 6minutes!
  14. I do recall saying that I hope if and when Harper loses people do not say Harper has a "bum" shoulder. If he is hurt, he should not wrestle. I think Harper would never use this as an excuse, and I also believe he has a lot going for him, and if he felt he was not ready to wrestle today, he would not have wrestled. I did say Cashe dominated Harper, but beating a kid of Josh's caliber = DOMINATING performance
  15. Does that move have a name? It was a very strange move, but a cool one definitely. No one around me knew what the name of this move was either?? The move Sandefer did in the last few seconds was called "playing dead." Ha. He is an excellent wrestler and had a few tougher matches today, the Trace Hall match was a good one as was the finals. Mandefer continues to impress...
  16. Beating Josh Harper is a DOMINATING performance. This goes along with giving Harper credit. I have all the respect in the world for Josh Harper and I know he is a phenom. I did cheer for Quiroga when he won today, rather loudly in fact. It is an amazing feeling watching two top tier wrestlers dual, not to mention to see an upset (if you will) and watch a kid who has only been beat once, when he bumped up, lose again. It was awesome to see, and that has nothing to do with me being happy that Harper lost. I wish they both would have won, but as the announcer said "we will only have one winner this year." Apparently next year's Al Smith will have 2 winners at 130.
  17. Porras made some costly mistakes in this one. He shot in on Cashe and held on to his leg while Quiroga took him down. After the take down, Porras continued to hold on trying to avoid the take down enabling Cashe to cradle him up. Also, Porras had two injury time outs giving Quiroga the choice when Porras was down 3. Porras was down and could have escaped and got a take down to tie it up, but instead went even further behind by Cashe getting an escape. They shared a pair of takedowns at the end to seal the deal, including a beautiful high crotch by Quiroga that was quick as lightning. It was closer than the score indicates, but Cashe wrestled better than Porras today.
  18. Haha this is so true because according to my stopwatch, Sandefer wrestled for about 43.93 seconds today, including two pins in a combined 16 seconds respectively. Stud. Nuff said
  19. Is it safe to say that the winner of the 130 lb weight class will be the outstanding wrestler of this years invitational?
  20. Is that a fat joke? Well i agree that Cashe looks like a little diesel truck and Porras is a pretty big 30 lber. It should be very interesting but I think if Porras ties up enough and doesn't let Cashe wrestle his match, he should be ok. I can't wait to see this one!
  21. Predictions anyone? What a way to start off the semi's!
  22. Thanks Wildcat, appreciate it. Wow is all I can say to some of these matchups. Dillon v. March Porras v. Quiroga Porras/Quiroga v. Harper Napules v. Brooks Stevens v Ayersman Nelsen v Beck Lopez v. Mapples Baker v. Cleveland I see some real barn burners in our near future.
  23. Harper has beat Cashe, fact. More than twice actually it has been 3 or 4 times. Harper also pinned Cashe in last years Al Smith. Does this mean anything? I guess that if you beat someone in the past, there is no concern for future matches with this opponent. Lucky Harper, he will stroll through the state finals. Nothing against Harper, he is an awesome wrestler and definitely one of the best the state has seen, period. A three time state champ as a junior is quite a feat. I am also not calling him out if in fact he does not wrestle tomorrow. I would not blame the kid for not wanting to further injure his shoulder, because he has too much going for him to risk that. A scholarship to MSU is a little more important than the Al Smith Invite. I wish him the best of luck throughout the rest of his high school career and through his collegiate endeavors.
  24. Rumor is he has a bum shoulder, but then again, last time Cashe bumped to wrestle Harper, he didn't wrestle, then wrestled later on that day. I'm not saying he is scared of Quiroga, but I can assure you if he does wrestle, and loses, "Harper's shoulder is bad" is all we will hear. I have not heard anything lately about his shoulder though so maybe we will see 3 of the best wrestlers in the state battle for the 130 lb title. I'll meet ya!
