I don't know for sure, but I think there are a few more teams than what are listed. In the past KV and Hobart had been there as well.

Who will Jake be fighting? And what is the deal with UFC? First they want him to fight, then they release him and now they sign him again. Dana White seems like a nice fella bag to me.

I think St. Joe in Rensselaer used to have a program back in the day as well.

5'4" 145? That kid must have been built like a tank.

Josh Birge from Frankfort against Vincense (spelling mistake I am sure) in 98 at 112 finals. High scoring and lots of throws.

Kokomo used to have a great tournament during the holidays back in the mid 90's with something like 24 teams. But, it was run horribly and broke up.

HOOSIER ? Benton Central, Delphi, Rensselaer Central, Sheridan, Tipton, Twin Lakes, West Lafayette Decent for small school wrestling, but wicked for small school football. -
Ryan Kaufman placed 5th a couple years ago (160) for Rensselaer and James Oliver was 6th in 97 (145) so I think that these two should be mentioned ahead of Moon. Kaufman's only losses that year were to the 2nd and 3rd place finishers at State. Also, Tom Flemming never qualified for state but he would have to be given some consideration as one of the best ever from Rensselaer. I still cannot believe he was beaten his senior year in the ticket round at Merrillville. Of these three I think Flemming was better as he was solid on his feet or on the mat. Kaufman was good on his feet but absolutly punishing when on top throwing in the legs and working his power half. Oliver was very good on his feet and above average on the mat. Moon was good, no doubt about it. But Kaufman and Oliver won over 40 matches their senior years wrestling a tougher schedule.

Rosenbalm from Merrillville vs. ? from Chesterton back in 89 or 90 at 125 or so. Rosenbalm won every match between the two in the finals that year from Sectionals to State and a couple matches during the year.

At 189 Kepner from Benton Central should probably be given some thought. The individual rankings have him at 15th.

Jake O'Brien I am sure we could all post tons of past wrestlers who are currently fighting somewhere, but Jake is one who is really making a name for himself. Edit: My fault, I see Jake's name was already mentioned earlier.

I am a police officer and try to keep tabs on the local turds who fight. The ones who walk around like tough guys on the street are always getting their asses kicked inthe ring by somebody who knows a bit of wrestling. It's a beautiful thing.

Did they change that recently? For some reason I thought you could come back for third at one time. Either way, a lot of great wrestling that day.

What kid are you talking about? I agree with Delphi winning, they are loaded this year. I love this tournament, but looks like I won't be making the trip this year. Somebody help a brother out by posting results throughout the day if you can.

Is Monticello on eastern time? Also, anyone know if Monticello is supposed to get hit by the ice storm Thursday night? Rensselaer and North Newton will probably be effected.
