  1. For the rankings guy it is Brendon not Brandon kelley, and he just wrestled jayce Carr , 3x Ky state champ and competed very well. Back and forth match Kelley hits a side headlock scoring the takedown and 2 nearfall pts putting Kelley up 8-6. Then Carr somehow bridges and circles to reverse the move putting Kelley on his back for the Fall with :19 sec left in the match. Kelley is continually getting better because he is working his butt off in the wrestling room every day!!!! He is a lot of fun to watch.
  2. Evansville Central also had big wins from 138 Brendon Kelley 18 - 5 over Schnar, Jesse Hohl pin and 160 Wesley Mandel pin. Reitz is for real and will be a tough out for anyone. undefeated central wrestlers were 138 Kelley 145 Kemper HWT Hohl
  3. AT 138 BRENDON KELLEY FROM EVANSVILLE CENTRAL WINS BY TECH. FALL OVER JONATHON HOEHN 18-2. NOT A SUPRISE THAT HE WON BECAUSE LAST YEAR THEY SPLIT MATCHES, BUT IT WAS QUITE A DOMINATE PERFORMANCE.
  4. I know I'm way off base here with no bashing of kids or complaining about parental decision making. But, my son Isaiah, has been on Team Indiana for the last (5)years and the upcoming freshmen are potentially a phenomenal crew. Up at Michigan this time last year the group of kids that are being discussed dismantled every team there. The closest match was, I believe 30 points. I'm very excited about these freshmen and what I think they can accomplish.
  5. With a wrestling room that reached 96 degrees, we had core group of kids that worked their butts off for 15 hours in 2 days. I thought the combination of moves flowed very well and the kids left with some very useful tools. I would recommend this camp to future campers, and hope to see you guys again soon. Jason Kemper
  6. does anyone know how mark hall is doing?
  7. Hey why cant we let 8th graders participate with high school, wouldn't this increase the numbers in the lower weight classes. I know there are other states that do this.
  8. Down here in the southern tip of Indiana we are putting together a team from the Evansville Central Program . Most will be our kids and we will fill in the other classes with who ever wants to compete. There will be a team in elementary and a team in middle school. We would like to start a little earlier this year. So if there are any open team tournaments that need teams please contact me Jason Kemper at kmperclan@yahoo.com.
  9. Did you mean 105 and 112 novice? If so at 105 Conner James and Ben Stewart are two very tough kids. At 112 I think that last years triple crown winner Scottie Evans, may be there. Isaiah Kemper will be pretty strong if he can make weight. I haven't been up north lately to know who may be there.
  10. We have a kid down here in Evansville Gabriel Patterson who will be competing at 120 novice. He is a third year wrestler that may make some noise. He is a bit clumsy but is very strong , and that keeps him in a lot of matches. Isaiah Kemper is on the fence with his weight . Right now he is 113.0 and will wrestle Indy Nationals at 112, but if he hits 115.2 before then he will be at 120. I know that 4 weeks doesn't seem very long to keep weight down but he is growing daily!!
  11. I usually am typical dad yelling for my boy and for his team mates, But the match between indiana gold and red cobra was great!! I always tell my son, Isaiah Kemper, that we go to these tournaments to wrestle the best kids possible. Win or lose, effort and focus is always the goal. He can not always be "top dog" but I always expect hard work and good sportsmanship. And with having said this, both teams were the example of why we drove seven hours to compete. The atmosphere of the mat with the kids and parents was awesome!! The kids determination and grit is a great example that Indiana is a state with talent and depth. I am a proud parent of a very good wrestler. I am also very proud of a solid Indiana Gold team and a very good Red Cobra team! Congratulations to you both! And thanks coaches Lance and AJ and Brandi Cash for the opportunity. Jason Kemper
