  1. manvswild Hands down. THE WORST EVER!!
  2. I'm surprised duck_and_run hasn't chimed in with something inane yet.
  3. I'll bet back in your day Chuck you played this game with peach baskets. And a ladder.
  4. Actually the data base that the body fat measurements are entered into does have the capability to set up individual weight loss programs for each wrestler. Also, coaches don't have access to the data base in order to discourage any data manipulation, so that part of the plan isn't feasible. Furthermore, there is already a ton of paperwork that needs to attended to by the coach through the season and having an additional duty will probably not be very popular. Finally, officials are just there to skin check, weigh-in, and referree. They want no part of getting involved with coaches' weight loss tracking.
  5. Does he get that a lot at school and practice?
  6. Perusing the brackets, I came up with an amusing thought: what if we give nicknames (ala Chris Berman--but funny) to wrestlers in the finals. The best in my opinion (and we'll see who gets the reference) is at 112 where you have from Bloomington South Jacob "This Is My" Boomsma. Please make an honest attempt to keep nicknames non-disparaging and worthy of a family messageboard.
  7. I cannot believe forum favorite "manvswild" didn't make the cut.
  8. My high school coach used to have a saying that went like this: "If you're early, you're on time. If you're on time, you're late." Very simple but also very applicable to anything you do in your life. I share this with my wrestlers every season. That and "girls and wrestling don't mix."
  9. His actual professional wrestling name is Brian "The Crippler" Costello.

  11. Well, if the wrestler is a Mormon he might very well be on a mission, because, you know, that's what Mormons do.
  12. An uncle/nephew sectional champ combo. I guess there's a first for everything
  13. Anticlimactic. Results from this are now posted.

  15. Pete Townshend is. http://celebrifi.com/gossip/Miami-Childrens-Group-Warn-Of-Pete-Townsend-1451773.html
  16. I just have to say that with some of the characters on this message board and the title of the topic, I'm proud that everyone showed restraint and maturity and didn't drag things into the gutter. Bravo Indianamat.com board members!!
  17. Following the match he found himself quite peckish, so he picked up his friend Harold and they made their way to White Castle. Cue hilarious hijinks.
  18. She has to be understanding and tolerant of coaching whether it's paid or voluntary. My wife knows she becomes a "wrestling widow" come November and sometimes this creates disagreements.
  19. Which calculates out to a winning percentage of 92.9% for Sarah and 87.1% for Sammy. If there's no head-to-head criteria or common opponents, then this was the deciding factor.
  20. This would preclude kids from lower socio-economic areas and families from participating. A great deal of work goes into fundraising, and I have to believe most kids would think if they have to work then they'll get a paycheck for themselves rather than fund a group. I can definitely see the numbers of participants declining if this comes to pass.
  21. Probably came on winning percentage if I had to guess.
  22. Our school system has already cut funding for all elementary athletics (including wrestling), and like most school corporations, more belt-tightening is coming. Our (the wrestling staff) biggest fear is that the middle school athletic budget will fall victim, effectively neutering any chance of developing competitive wrestling teams in the near future.
  23. Memorial used to be in the NIC but moved over to the Northern Lakes sometime in the 90's.
