  1. That is freestyle, which is completely different. Dake's style obviously translates much better to folkstyle given his strength is defense and top game. I think Cael would win, but I also believe what Dake did in college winning in 4 separate weight classes was more impressive.
  2. Ha. Didnt work too well for the people where I ended up sitting. ;D If I wait 45 minutes to get to my seats just to wait another hour you can damn well guarantee I will be getting some good seats and I dont care who I offend or piss off by doing so.
  3. I could not disagree more. Every year people make a huge deal of this. At my sectional Twin Lakes use to not shake hands, at my old conference New Castle didn't. It is no big deal to anyone except the fans who because of a lack of a simple handshake constantly root against that team. How many times this weekend did you see a losing wrestler run over to the opposing coach and barely even shake their hand as they ran past? Generally wrestlers are really hard on themselves after a loss and dont want to associate with anyone, let alone worry about shaking a coaches hand. I use to think differently on this subject, but I think it is best that you go back to your own coaches (if anyone) and discuss with them the fine points of the match. There is no right or wrong in this situation, and the teams who choose to not shake hands catch way too much flack for it.
  4. Shocked to see a mishawaka fan thinks that if Tsirtsis loses it would be to a Mishawaka wrestler. : Little Tsirtsis had a much tougher road to a title last year beating Cashe who is doing great as a true frosh in college. There will be no upset at state on the horizon at 130.
  5. Probably similar to how old Cody Phillips will be after he graduates high school. Im sure there are many more examples of this as it is really not that uncommon.
  6. I certainly have never seen Metcalf show respect for his opponents and cannot blame someone for showing some arrogance when they get the chance against Brent the unbeatable.
  7. If Caldwell would have beat anyone else maybe I would understand this crying over it, but he beat a man who was an 11-1 favorite and nearly eveyone's lock to win it all. Not only that, but Metcalf has made a history of taking people's hearts away from them and basically "embarrassing" them on the mat in front of everyone. If Metcalf had been up his style/celebration would have not been a backflip, but instead he would have laid on top of his opponent and grinded his elbow in the back of their head just to let them know what they have been through. (See big 10 finals against schlatter and many other matches from last year) Metcalf got what he deserved and I dont feel sorry for him one bit.
  8. I would assume there is some sarcasm in that response no???
  9. my bad ha wasnt paying attention! you think a freshman tsirtsis beats a three time unbeaten healthy harper? anyone else opinions on overall winners? I would also have Tsirtsis winning this match up.
  10. Cashe is the definition of being nonstop while neutral and pushing the action and Tsirtsis handled that effectively when he needed to. Frankie didnt even get a takedown in his match with Spencer if I remember correctly. We must agree to disagree on this one. Hopefully next year we will find out.
  11. Beat me to it. I was just about to say no love for mcmurray at all. I would have you at least at 152 and maybe 135 also.
  12. You should at least be correct if you are going to make such a bold statement. This has already been pointed out on the board at least once that Stein was NOT winning when the injury took place. Quiroz was up 5-2. Leave the disussion to people who were there and paid attention. Him and the Avon kid both made it back to accept their 8th place medals and were apparently ok.
  13. There is no way to really tell, but it certainly would not have been a foregone conclusion. Frankie was getting closer and closer even before the injury occurred. Either way, there is nothing to be ashamed of and he had a great career.
  14. Or, as they would say on the MMA forum I visit frequently source or GTFO! I dont think Im crossing any line by saying that...... Photo shop it.
  15. I heard he was no longer on the Purdue wrestling team. Is this true? If so what a shame. Outside of Howe I thought he had the most potential for college wrestling out of anyone who went on to college after last season.
  16. Eppert. I got a kick out of his "3 finger" breaking or whatever that was. Also, he was so pumped and seemed to be talking to himself for about the next 4 or 5 minutes while pacing. Must have been a very satisfying end to his career.
  17. I cant believe what I have been reading about people wanting Wright to be hit for stalling. It is the bottom wrestler's duty to work for an escape or a reversal. It is the top wrestler's responsibility to work towards a pin/nearfall. Stading up is a way to escape and therefore there is no way Wright should have cautioned or given a stalling call.
  18. NO. Tsirtsis won when it mattered most so what more does he have to prove? I doubt very much he would have given up that 2nd takedown had the penalty point not been awarded. Both are great wrestlers and nothing should be taken away from Cashe as he had a great career/season and is still one of the better wrestlers in this state.
  19. date=1235307690] Sounds like sour grapes to me. Yet its never sour grapes about harper huh??? I was shocked as I nearly had Roach as a lock Where have I made excuses for Harper?? I don't even understand that comment. Roach seems like a classy kid, but there is no reason to get on here the day after the state finals and start making excuses. He's not using it as an excuse. I wasnt claiming you made any excuses for Harper. I am simply saying people were discussing his torn labrum to great lengths and no one said that sounds like an excuse and sour grapes...etc. I think both are amazing wrestlers and obviously both conditions would greatly affect one's wrestling.
  20. I totally agree wrong Im with you Trapjaw
  21. Yet its never sour grapes about harper huh??? I was shocked as I nearly had Roach as a lock
  22. I thought Phillips friday night match was much closer than 7-2? Im pretty sure he was leading 6-5 at one point against Hall before scoring a few more points.
  23. I was sick of hearing this question and discussion all day yesterday. Who cares why, because the bottom line is they moved and hes better off at CP.
  24. Boo this man. Let the kids show some emotion in what could very well be the proudest moments of their young lives.
