  1. i think that bailey will win at 152 and smith at 112. They both wrestled well last weekend at the HHC tourney
  2. do u guys have a date in mind for the Culver camp yet?
  3. I saw him a few wrestle 119 a few weeks ago at madison and he looked really solid and healthy. I agree with you guys tho that 119 is one stacked class this year. its gonna be a dogfight at state for the title!
  4. i would go with Grajales...the kid is an absolute beast. one of my favorite highlights is him pinning in the state finals with a leg cradle on a kid...he is on another level
  5. i think LN has been solid year in and year out for the past 20 years. Sure now there are some programs that are ascending to the top here in the past few years but it has to be LN.
  6. i think they will win it all again for sure...
  7. Two years ago Clark won the title, Gibson was the year before that. You are right about Waltrip and Johnson in the finals last season. That was an error somewhere along the line. Clark got third at the HHC last year.
  8. i dont think that is goin out on a limb at all...i think that he has a great chance of making the finals depending on the draw...
  9. haha i can assure u their house is. i have known em for years and they still go at it all the time. i expect big things out of them...they will go far
  10. 1.Floyd 2.Jeff 3.New Albany 4. CE 5. JC 6. Madison 7. BNL 8. Seymour
  11. Posted by: wcs145 I can appreciate good defense and wouldn't want to penalize it. Riding isn't good defense, it's glorified stalling. anyone who has ever had to ride someone out to win can tell you that there is no "glorified stalling" to it. against any good wrestler that is trying to get away to win it is a great challenge to ride someone out. it is how the final round of OT is setup for this very reason.
  12. is this really a problem...i would hate to think that at that age parents would be making a descision like that for a kid at such a young age in hopes of giving them a competitive edge their senior year of high school. i think that it is reasons like this that the ISWA has age divisions and not grade divisions. the jr age division discusses being in hs so that younger college students are wrestling hs kids. i think it would be horrible making a descision like that
  13. i kno that there is a rule in the IHSAA that places an age maximum on athletes. im not sure, but it might be that they cannot be 19 before they start their season.
  14. that was one of the craziest matches i have ever seen...that one and Galka vs. Viterisi last year went right to the wire
  15. how did the duel with castle pan out?
  16. that would be an awesome thing to see...i read a lot about him in highschool
  17. i said that they were in no particular order. those were who i saw as the top 3
  18. my top 3 picks 103:jeff, CE, FC 112:jeff, CE, mad 119:na,CE, Jeff 125:Jeff FC,NA 130:Jc,NA, Jeff 135:FC, NA, mad 140:jeff,fc,jc 145:jeff,fc,na 152:FC, Jeff, CE 160:JC, CE 171:CE,FC, Jeff 189:jeff,jc, 215:BNL, jeff, mad 285:jeff, Sey,jc no particular order
  19. u got to show BNL some love...Everhart is a solid wrestler at 145 and is in a wide open class and McPike has had a solid year and handled Collett pretty well at duels. i think that this discussion will take better shape after HHC conference when we get a feel for who has made strides in the season and who is wrestling strong.
  20. my guess would be that there would be an issue with the people coming to watch. most students cant get out of school early, some people are able to take only a half day off and not a whole, and hotel check-ins. plus the weight cutting is easier if u get done eat a little bit and go to bed. if it were earlier they would have more of a wait until weighins the next day.
  21. Any particular reason? i think those will be the biggest battles...some will have favorites, but i see these being the most open
  22. for so many that is the culmination of so many years of work and i think those are some of the most exciting ones to watch. it is the time to go big or go home
  23. I'd like to see 1 team point given to the wrestler who loses a match, but scores an offensive point (takedown, reversal, backpoints). i totally disagree with that. in tight matches that would add up quick and in essence only make a close descision worth 2 points overall. it all boils down to the fact of not getting pinned and staying off your back. Dont reward someone for losing. i like the idea of encouraging aggressiveness, BUT that once again is sending the wrong message.
