  8. Coach Glass, how about that sixth grade stud, Brett Johnson from PM. This is going to be a fun one tonight. Rumor is Coach Hassmen is going to travel to PMMS in a Grizzly Cub outfit. With 12 PM kids out due to grades they do not stand a chance. Oh, I forgot. The community parade leading to the gym starts at 4:15. It can not start at 4 as planned due to the local police dept and fired dept not being able to set up in time with rush hour traffic. See everyone there.

  19. The Perry Meridian RTC starts tomorrow(tuesday) at 6 pm. We will go from 6-7:45. Hope to have a big group of studs here at PM. We will have more info on clinicians. See ya tomorrow night.
  20. Coach Thornton, Thanks for the kudos. Yes, it has been a very very tough year for various reasons. What was once a starting line up was depleted by losing more than a stud. A few studs. In our line up at the end we had two freshman, one with a week of varsity experience and the other who just really started putting off season time this summer. We had six more kids that came from the JV team last year. Of those six, one was our 5th string guy after the first wrestle off. Another was our third string guy. Of the remaining 6 only one had made it to the state finals and did not place, three made it to the Semi state and the other two got beat first round of the regional last year. There have been many posts this year about this and that and opinions. And, that is all they are, opinions. Here are the facts. We preach citizenship, work ethic and grades. You never see out kids smack another coaches hand, throw a headgear, kick a trash can....yet, we are not perfect. We have kids and kids make mistakes. Coaches are human and humans make mistakes. Sometimes people judge on this board without really knowing the truth. But, any coach that has competed against us will verify all of the things that I feel our program has exemplified. With that being said, I want to thank some people or groups. 1. My coaching staff for all your time, efforts and for being just good friends. Having a coaching staff that is close is a huge factor in success of the kids and program. Coach Schoettle, Gibson, Walpole, Pierson, Bailey, Adams-Thanks. 2. Parents-We have some awesome parents whose efforts will be seen this time of year because of their help in the off season at local, state and national tournaments. Also for their support of the kids. 3. The kids-WOW-stepped up again. What you do now will decide your fate for next year. But, in the end they are the ones that have to step out onto the mat and put it on the line. Great job guys. 4. This is big-our competition. You drive us. Nuff said. 5. Fans-we had a good showing at team state. Alumni, supporters and students-Thanks 6. Managers-we have a group of hard working girls led by Mrs Tasseff. You will see them around during the off season at tournaments. We are very lucky to have this hard working group of girls. 7. Wrestling Club Board-Thanks for all your efforts. We are very successful in the club season due to your efforts. Michelle and Bill Harris, Angie Cooper, Tim Naughton, Stephanie Warren, Linda and Buddy Simmons. 8. Middle School kids and Coaching staff-although I have already mentioned coaching staff I think its important to know that these kids coming are our bread and butter. Coach Ricahrdson, Glasser, Alexander, Cottey, Bernard, Johnson coached em up to another middle school state championship with 10 placewinners. 9. Our elementary kids and Coaches. You little guys will be the future. Thanks Coach Warren, Phillips, Hickey, Fleener, Bailey, Hammond and others. 10. To recap what these kids did with a very shorthanded squad based upon where we started at the outset of the season: They won their 5th straight Marion County title. Their 10th Conference Indiana Title. I believe their 10 staight sectional title. Their 9th appearance in 10 years at team state. This year they beat # 7 Castle 37-18, #9 Portage 39-17, #10 Bloomington South 33-20, #11 Penn 47-19, #12 Cathedral 33-29 and 39-20, #13 New Pal 43-21 and 47-15, #14 Belmont 34-29, #15 Franklin Community 37-13, #16 Jeffersonville(in CCC), #17 Roncalli 41-22, #18 Center Grove 51-6, #19 Carmel 42-17. All of these teams are awesome competitors and are very capable on any given day of beating PM. For you kids coming back, now is the time!!! 1
