  1. Yep....I seen that as soon as I posted the topic.....well, maybe next year!
  2. I know it's a little late, a week late.....but I was disappointed this past IHSAA State Wrestling Finals when I didn't see the guys from Flowrestler! I thought it was pretty awesome that they were there last year, and did interviews and such. I know they were not given any rights to tape any matches, thanks IHSAA by the way (sarcasm). But since I heard they (the IHSAA) were streaming live for this year's finals, I thought maybe the guys from Flo would be back and we would get some good Flowrestling web time! I won't be able to attend Team State, due to Middle School wrestling, but I hope that the Flowrestling team shows up there! Indiana needs all the National attention we can get!
  3. Those are some really great photos.....nice job!
  4. "Sec. 7. After June 30, 2009, a school corporation may participate in an athletic event only if the athletic event is conducted, organized, sanctioned, or sponsored by the division under this chapter." I was reading over this bill............AND I am in no way in favor for anything like this! This would most likely mean, no out of state competition....not that many schools travel out of state, but there are schools that bring in other schools from out of state. Will this bill, the interscholastic athletics board become a member of the National Federation of State High School Associations.....Or will we expect to have a new rule book for next year also. If we have a new rule book, I would like to see the DOE come up with a set a rules for each sport! Sec. 6. The interscholastic athletics board has the following powers and duties: (1) To regulate, supervise, and administer all interscholastic athletic programs. (2) To cooperate with all agencies concerned with the health and educational welfare of secondary school students. (3) To establish standards for eligibility, competition, and sportsmanship while providing protection against the exploitation of schools or students. (4) To determine qualifications for individual contestants, coaches, and officials. (5) To enter into agreements with nonpublic schools concerning their participation in interscholastic athletic programs. (6) To adopt, with the approval of the state board, rules governing interscholastic athletic programs. (7) To appoint, with the approval of the state superintendent, a director of interscholastic athletics. The director serves at the will of the board. The compensation of the director shall be fixed by the budget agency with the approval of the state superintendent. (8) With the consent of the state superintendent and the budget agency, to appoint and fix salaries for any assistants and other personnel needed to enable the director to accomplish the duties of the director's office. (5) To enter into agreements with nonpublic schools concerning their participation in interscholastic athletic programs......how much of a kickback will this interscholastic athletics board get from all of the private schools. (8) With the consent of the state superintendent and the budget agency, to appoint and fix salaries for any assistants and other personnel needed to enable the director to accomplish the duties of the director's office......To Accomplish the duties.....so they will stop at no cost to deal with a situation...I take it. wow....
  5. I would be totally against the idea of allowing middle school/ jr. high kids wrestle in high school. Even coming from a school that suffers every year with numbers. This is why: --Maturity Level (Only about 1 of 1,000 middle school kids could compete at the high school level and be successful due to strength, aggressiveness and so on.) --I wouldn't want my 6th, 7th or even 8th grader around Juniors and Seniors in the locker room. (although we have some good wrestlers that young kids would benefit from in the wrestling room, they are still high school kids and locker room talk would not be good for little ears) --Injuries, young bodies would suffer or be prone to more injury with the intense practice schedule of a high school program.....sure you may think they would get use to the intensity, but most middle schoolers would get really burned out, if they were struggling with health all the time. --Lastly, I really feel it would hurt some JV or Varsity kids' feelings if they got beat out of their spot by a 6th grader! lol
  6. You may have to throw in all the runner-ups also vs. Chalfant.
