I love when this discussion gets going! I say it ever year when this discussion gets brought up.: the 106 lb weight classes from 2011-2012 & 2012-2013 has produced a wide array of state champions and a few guys who even have had quite a bit of success in college. Look back through those names from those two years and you guys will see what I mean.

I agree with the 2011-2012 group as well as with 2008-2009 group.

    2011-2012

Nathan Boston, Stevan Micic, Tommy Cash, Sawyer Miller, Damon Kuhn, Conner Knapp, DJ Smith, Hayden Lee, Zach Davis, Jacob Brown, Mike Garza, and Jacob Cottey collectively have 27 medals in IN, 30 if you count Boston and Lee’s moves to Ohio and Kentucky, 7 IN state titles, 10 counting Boston and Lee out of state. Then add in their college accolades mentioned above and Kayla Miracle’s obvious resume. Very impressive group!

    2008-2009

Kyle Ayersman, Bryan Kuhn, Mason Todd, Jared McKinley, Cody Phillips, Dylan Hall, Brian Harvey, Jacob Boomsma, Zach Stevens, Dusty Kief, Aurlieo Medina, Cameron Halsted, Todd Batt, and Abraham Que collectively had 28 medals in IN, 9 State titles in IN. Very impressive as well!

Im sure these are some of the higher medal counts, but not sure if they are the highest.

Last second is putting ot lightly.  Schrader had his hand raised after the ref gave no points on a late takedown attempt.  Then reversed after a challenge, giving Miller the 2-1 win.  Lots of cheers and a few boos after that one.

How controversial was the call? I guess what I am asking is should it have been called a takedown?

  3. I hope you know, no one thought he should have been a 4 seed (ended up with 3 seed cause hart scratched). I'm sure everyone was in aww by the result of the seeding meeting and the way it ended up being ran. I wouldn't doubt if all other coaches were in complete agreement that he should have been. But with the "criteria" used they had to put him there.

  5. Actually Krintz got down to weight (160) for the Delphi match but Delphi forfeited due to injury, so that was a decision that affected the seeds.

Yes, I agree completely. They also forfeited to Lafayette Jeff in their dual meet if I remember correct.

  6. I think faulkens was saying since Jeff had more wins over the field in Sectional bracket he gets 1 seed. Kidwell had next most, then delphi (only because krintz wasn't at the weight at the time). They used winning percentage after those were in place. I'm not sure, I wasn't there. Just trying to bring light to everything.

  7. Great analysis. I agree with everything for the most part, but I will have to give the edge to Anderson, just because he beat wright, and wright beat Johnson this year. I do see Johnson avenging his loss to wright though. It will be a great day of wrestling for sure.

  8. 106: Mills, Garcia, Denny, Casebolt.. Garcia beat the guy handily that rooks lost to, should be great ticket round match.

    113: Annakin, Mosconi, Weaver, Horty

    120: Rooks, Lugis, Hunt, Mulkey

    126: Hudkins, Dilbek, Gomez, Willlis

    132: Lee, Elpers, Molloy, Sellmer

138: Lee, Ramsey, McCoy, Wathen.. Anyone picking against Lee here is crazy he is a monster

    145: Lee, bethel, Wilson, Burke

    152: Dunn,Lehman, Herrin, Aydelott

    160: Whitaker, Vanhorn, Mundy, Mappes

    170: Walton, Fuller, Owens, Hayes,

    182: Dalton, Dalmer, McKinley, Dial

    195:Wilderman, Redmond, Lee, Robinson

    220: Larson, Scroggs, Choate, Mcubbins

    285: Klem, Galligar, York, Henson

Hudkins and Willis will face in ticket round
  9. Betourne is tough. I think the only way white beats him is if he turns him. I don't see him turning him though, just because he is very defensive and strong on bottom. I feel that the match up favors betourne, but we will see. It will bra great semi final match.
